July 8 Runs

Am I the first to post?  I ran 4 miles including 4 hill repeats.  It was an easy day, partly in deference to the heat, partly being short on time.  Not a bad day though - 86/87 degrees, cloud cover and a light breeze.

    I got in a 5 mile trail run early this morning. I almost have a 12 mile run mapped near my house. I need to find the connector between two trails. By the end of the summer, I will be able to run 12-17 miles on trails that are within a few minutes of my house. I love getting lost in the woods!!  Temps weren't awful this morning. I am worried about the patches of poison ivy that seem to be popping up on my arm and legs...ugh.

    I will run for cupcakes!!

    Resting my legs today, doing boot camp with running club tonight (upper body and core).

    2.5 miles.


    This definitely turned into a recovery-status after the 12 yesterday.


    The mind was ready to go fast and further but the body and the heat said, Nyet.

    Thursday is my tempo run day.


    1 mile easy

    6 miles tempo at marathon pace

    1 mile easy

    Cool down for 0.3 miles then 15 minutes on the stair stepper.

    Today was an a la carte day - I did a quick 5 min warm up on the treadmill, climbed the Washington Monument on the Versa Climber (555') and then did 15 minutes of intervals on the elliptical, a 2 minute cool down and 100 crunches.  Will do 150 more crunches and 10 modified push-ups this evening.

    Wanted to do a easy run after some hill work on the treadmill yesterday.  Today, really worked on keeping HR in Zone 1(135-145).  Did 5 miles at 9:44 pace. Man, that 9:09 pace for a 4hr MCM seems so far away.

    Did hill work with a total of 4 miles.
