Dear friends !
What are your favorite running socks and why ? There must be hundreds of brands out there and it is sometimes difficult to find a personal favorite.
Thanks fro your help

I've developed an affinity for the DryMax socks sold by Road Runner Sports. They're medium weight, and they do a very nice job of keeping my feet dry and blister-free.
I've also worn DryMax trail socks (they're good too), DryMax maximum protection socks (a little too thick, which you'd sort of expect), Balega (very comfy, but not that durable), Smartwool (great socks; the Ph.D. and Adrenaline lines are a touch thick for my taste), Injinji (the toe-sock thing takes some getting used to, but they're nice; fairly thin, too), and WrightSocks (the dual-layer is nice, and they're comfortable, but the fit was a little strange for me).
Just my experience. Good luck with your search!

I only wear Thorlos anymore because all of my other running socks wore out and they are all I have left. Plus - I very rarely get any blisters.

I am a Thorlo guy. They last forever too. (I wear the THICK ones)
Thorlos for me. Great cushion that never breaks down. I will give the drymax a try though because I think the thorlos could do a better job of wicking away the wet.

I too had the same issue of which sock to buy. I need a little support so I went with Balega they give me the support I need.
http://www.balegasports.com/. I think they are easy to put on and take off.
Good Luck,
Jim G.
I started using a thin Asics ankle sock and have never had an issue with them. I try to bike and run without socks but just cant seem to do the run without getting rubs or blisters. These socks are very thin but boy do they help!

I've worn them all, and while I respect everyone's taste and their own view, there is one and ONLY one name in socks: Feetures. They come in thin (Light) and thick (Original or Regular; not nearly as thick as Thorlos). I wear both as I need to wear 2 pair or I get blisters. This brand is PERFECT for that.
There's no toe seam, they come in 4 sizes (get a size bigger than what you think), they have no show, ankle, low rise, and calf. Basically, made to order. I wear Feetures for all my athletic activities, including officiating (football and basketball -- just the lights in football as I have to wear the uniform sock). Oh, and they come in white and black and maybe other colors.
I got some for my sister in law for Christmas and she liked them, but wanted to know why Target didn't carry them!
Seriously, if you like Thorlos, that's great, but try these if you haven't. Certain Thorlos are OK, but they have always been somewhat swampy for me.
One more thing: they don't wear out. I think they do shrink a little, even with no cotton. Plus, the inside coloring of your shoes, especially black shoes, will discolor the white socks. But I'm still wearing socks I bought 6 years ago and the 6 or 7 pair rotation gets worn 5 times a week on average. More in the fall and winter. The three pairs each of black lights and regular have been worn (rotated) for 5 years, 50 times a year minimum (80-90 wearings each, washed on hot water afterward). If I buy another pair, its only to have a clean pair handy, not because of anything worn out. I do hike in Smartwools and wear lighter SWs daily as casual socks in the fall/winter/early spring.
Two socks are all I wear -- Thor-Los Experias (I love the new blend -- wool, silk) and SmartWool.
I've been running a long time and have to recommend that you try different brands. If the socks don't fit YOU right, you're going to get blisters. That said, I still got blisters running in "blister-free" socks. It wasn't until I tried SmartWool that I quit getting blisters.

I just got two pairs of the Thorlo Experias as a gift. I've tried them on a few runs of 3-5 miles so far and they performed well. I'm anxious to see how well they work on some longer runs.
It's funny, when I was a kid receiving socks as a gift would have been a disappointment. Now I think it it's a cool and thoughtful gift.

I've had no problems with the Experias on long-ish runs. I haven't had any runs longer than 10 miles, but with the heat and humidity have had no problems at all. I figure that if I am going to get blisters, I'll get them when I'm soaking wet from a run.

smartwool phD socks are my new best friend. i usually finish runs with what my husband sweetly refers to as "swamp foot" but these keep me nice and dry with no blisters. they come in several different thicknesses as well
The Asics Hera low cuts and haven't had blisters. They don't bunch up, they keep my feet sweat free, and they stay put on your feet. They actually fit perfectly.
I love Swiftwick!!!! I have a couple pairs and use them when I am running and mountain biking. I have the Olefin 1's and 4's and love them! Very comfortable and keeps me dry. I even wear their Merino Wool socks in the summer and the winter and they are dry and cool as can be! Not like some other wool socks. I have some Defeet and Sock Guy socks and they just seem really cheap after wearing my Swiftwicks. Just try a pair... you'll love them!
