Kobe bryant for a few reasons
He is the player with the highest basketball IQ in the world (note i said player not person)
He is tough on his team mates when they do not perform and would be tough on his players if he coached
He always wants to learn so if he has a few bad seasons as a coach he will do whatever he can to improve his coaching style etc
He has won championships as a player so he knows what its like and the power a team needs to have in order to get into that position
He was coached by phil jackson his whole career, he is bound to have learnt some of his coaching methods
He knows how a player needs to practice to become great, how many hours you need to put in
So thats why i think Kobe Bryant may be the nba player who is the best coach
I agree, Nash could def. be the best coach in the future, he's so talented in coaching.
Thanks for the input guys.I think Shane Battier is a very interesting point. He would be a good coach, and i think Chauncey Billups and Derek Fisher would be also
i know you guys will think im crazy for saying this, but LUKE WALTON of los angeles lakers could be a good coach. he has studied the triangle offense to perfection and when he's injured and not playing he's always sitting next to phil jackson. phil even said that luke has the iq to even be a head coach.
See, thats a good one, people dont get that good players usually turn out as bad coaches because they arent in a position to see much outside of themselves, and they dont understand how to deal with certain types of players, and how to develop certain types of players. Luke Walton, is a role-player who watches how his team comes together and who does what, while learning under a coach. Pointguard1995,not only do you NOT sound crazy, you probably chose the best pick for future coach.
LeBron would be a terrible coach!!! How can you even think that? Sure he's a great player but hes more of the type where he takes things into his own hands. Look at Michael Jordan. He coached and came back to playing again. LeBron would do the same thing. A good coach would probably be either Rajon Rondo or Paul Pierce. I'm not saying that because i'm a Celtics fan, but Rajon Rondo can definitely guide a team. Paul Pierce can encourage people and make the right decisions.
Thanks,
some examples of good players turned bad coaches are isiah thomas and magic johnson. magic was so bad that he quit 12 games after becoming coach.isiah is so bad that he's now coaching a mid-major college team. But some role-players in the past (scott skiles, scott brooks, doc rivers etc) are now some of the best coaches in the league.
D Fish
He Knows the Triangle offense like the back of his hand. He has a huge basketball IQ, so does kobe.
He is a great leader. I dont think kobe could be a good head coach, maybe an assistant or a scout.
Kobe is the reason why the lakers have artest and Barnes now. He would be a good assistant for Fisher.
But Fisher is a huge part of why the lakers won 2 straight titles, with his leadership and clutch shots.

I think Kobe.
Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard.

I say Steve Nash. He seems to be a student of the game and as a player he makes everyone around him better.
Steve Nash.
I don't have to point out anything. We all know he would be fantastic.
I think Kobe Bryant is really a superstar but only when he is a player. A good coach? I dont think so!
