Skiing to keep in shape.

1. Are there any members here from Minnesota that will be skiing at Giants Ridge?
2. Does anybody else ski during the winter?

I don't go running as much anymore now that the snow is coming, so I bought ski's and the whole pack to go skiing this year since I liked it alot the last couple years. Also it is a very good "workout". If you are a runner and will be skiing at giants ridge this year please tell me, I would like to talk to you and maybe get some running tips. Thanks~Charlie

I'm from MN. My school doesn't have a cross country ski team. I wish they did. I heard it's good conditioning for running. I've downhill skiied before but I've never cross country skiied. I think cross country skiing looks like fun. My dad is going to take me cross country skiing sometime.

I'm sorry, I'm not a xc skiier, I do downhill and freestyle. Mostly freestyle, what a rush. Are you gonna do downhill skiing this year?

I don't ski very often. I only go about once a year with my church youth group. I'd like to go more often though. My school has a ski and snowboard club where you go to Buck Hill so I might do that.

Hey, yeah Its starting to SNOW TODAY!!! I'm so happy for being able to drag out the ski wax. (I do nordic skiing) I still need to get a nice new pair of skate skis, but my classics still are the right size. I cant wait for it to start snowing a lot more! I hope school is cancelled tomorrow!!

Even though I'm from Johannesburg, a place not exactly known as a great ski resort, I have been ski-ing a few times, and found it to be great fun!!!! Isn't there just something really exhilarating about going downhill connected (hopefully!) to a pair of skis? I haven't been in years, but I'd LOVE to get back into it. Such an adrenalin rush!

Yeah I totally know what you mean, this will be my 4th year skiing. Of course I haven't ever done freestyle, which is what I'm going to do this year. My freinds does, so I bought his old pair of ski's from last year, and he went out and bought Salomon Teneighties. But the adrenaline rush you get from going off of a jump(even a small one) is unbeleiveable.

An update- in February, as (hopefully!) a reward for doing well at the Johannesburg Marathon at the end of January, I've treated myself to my first skiing holiday in YEARS!!! This is going to be fun-CAN'T WAIT!
