Today in 1993, NY Yankee pitcher, Mark Hutton is 1st Australian in history to start a MLB game. He beats Angels 5-2

Not to forget Joe Quinn....the very first Aussie-born player to play MLB in the U.S.A----1884.

    But not a pitcher.

Today Aussie Outfielder Trent Oeltjen got called upto the Dodgers.

I believe he is the 4th Aussie to play for the Dodgers ?? >FRANK ?

    Shipley,Prokopec,Thomas,Oeltjen

I'm guessing no more than 4 Aussies have ever played for the one MLB team ??

Brewers had 3, Nilsson, Lloyd and Durrington.

BTW, below is the new MLB designed Logo for our new Brisbane Minors team. Possibly coached by Dave Nilsson and ex Phillies player Kevin Jordan.

Big Dave is still the only Aussie ever to appear in an All Star Game.

    Glen:

Prokopec, Shipley, and now Oeltin are correct.

To my knowledge...Thomas--No! He was with the Twins, and now Detroit.

    But stand to be corrected.

But there WAS another Aussie with the Dodgers--Jeff Williams.

BTW --for the record, all with the LA Dodgers, not Brooklyn.

    Frank!

You are correct as usual Frank.. Williams not Thomas...should have known I couldn't sneak a curve ball by you...

Luke Prokopec has been a high performance Coach of young kids in my City, I got to work with him assisting grading some local kids which was enlightening as a Junior Coach.

Luke still plays in our Local League, but does not Pitch anymore due to arm injury , he is still a great batter for our Local A Standard.
