Cooperstown Dreams Park-NATC

Anyone hear what took place the following week? The Arsenal from NJ beat a team 53-0. They were the number one seed going into tournament play. Prior to the tournament beginning, kids in the park returned all the pins that were traded with the Arsenal. As the tournament went on teams that were knocked out, went to the field and rooted against the Arsenal. At the closing ceremony the Arsenal were booed and then when the championship game began the Arsenal hit 2 home runs which were both thrown back onto the field(one had left the stadium. At the conclusion of the championship the owner did not even come out to present them with the championship trophy and the team was handed a letter telling them they were banned from Cooperstown Dreams Park. Comments?

Wow, what a bizarre tournament bracket.  Check it out: Week 12 (NATC) Bracket

If you aren't a top seed, you need to play -- and win -- 5 games in one day.  That's just plain crazy.

However, none of the games show Arsenal winning 53-0.  Or did that happen some time before this tournament?

There are two parts to the week. "Regular Games" and "Tournament Games"

Arsenal beat the Fairmont Braves 53-0 (12 run mercy rule) in the regular games part.

Fairmont lost its other three games 0-16, 1-20, and 4-14.

A quick run through the regular games part showed at least 13 games won by 20 or more. There was a 35-0 game and a 30-0 game.

It was in the "Regular Games"

    Arensenal 53 Fairmont Braves 0

The Fairmont Braves ended up as the last seed in that championship bracket.

The rest of the scores were fairly lopsided, but not 53-0.

It's the truth.  I heard all about it as it was happening.  A kid on my AAU team played for the Eastern Mass All-Stars this past week at Cooperstown.  I was on the phone with his Dad who was there.  He told me the exact same story about kids breaking the Arsenal pins then throwing them at their barracks.

53-0 is a sin.  What's the point?  Usually, the high-powered travel teams like the Arsenal know enough to take it easy on single-town teams that go to DreamsPark just for the experience.  I was told that the Arsenal manager was a real jerk about it, too.

A Friend om mine took a good team to CDP a few years ago.   I saw on the internet he beat a team 34-1 and started to give him crap. He was up 10-0 in the first inning by the second inning the score was 19-0.  He called off his dogs and started to have the kids bunt back to the pitcher etc.  Opposing coach told him that it was okay - just play ball our kids need to learn.  So they played station to station baseball.  When a kid it a HR - the opposing team gave them high fives as they passed the basses.  At the end of the game - the opposing coach told them they were a great team and good luck!!.  My friends team made it to the finals - want to guess who followed them the whole way rooting for them??

But 54-0?? I'm guessing that coach was running etc the whole game.  CDP needs to change the mercy rules - I think the games have to go 4 innings no matter what.

It was even worse than it sounds.  They never dialed it down against an obviously inferior team.  When the score was 47-0, they stole home on a throwback to the pitcher to score the 48th run.  They deserve to be run out of town.

Five games Wednesday followed by three more on Thursday !!!

On Wednesday you have to win 4 games in order to play against one of the "Top Seeds" - after 4 games how much pitching can you have left !!!

I'll challenge them to come to Houston and just play the four other teams from Houston that won CDP tournaments this year plus a couple of others that are just as good. I am sure California, Georgia, Florida, Arizona and some others would do the same.

We might not have beaten then but if they pulled that kind of crap we would have beaten them to a pulp.

That's nice - and you call them bush!!!

    I will kick your a##.

There is no I in TEAM !!!

Don't ge me wrong, if what the poster says is true, then in no way do I condone their actions and I would hope they would learn something from being banned from CDP.

    "banned from CDP."

I don't know what CDP is but I assume they were banned from spending $750 per kid to play in a tourney at Cooperstown. How lucky they are!!! Do you think they will lose players who are all paying $250/mo to be a part of their thieving organization? Of course, it isn't thieving when delusional, idiot parent of 8 yr olds will spend $3000 a yr just to be on the team because they have been told the Arsenal will get them a 'ship. Lets see, 3K x 12 yrs is 36k. You will be very fortunate IF your kid gets a college 'ship to ever get 36k in 'ships $$$. The Arsenal is ripping off delusional parents and are scumbags. Come to Texas and get your a## kicked. Or go to Cooperstown and whip bad teams whose parents are as ignorant as yours and will pay $750 per player to play 5 games a day(that isn't fun) at a youth baseball tourney and then because all the Cooperstown people care about is how much $$$ they can suck from the ignorant masses they put a really bad team against the Arsonal and let they kids get beat 53-0.

A pox on Cooperstown and the Arsenal!
