Perfect Coach

my coach is a club coach as well as the track and cross country coach for my high school. there are only a few runners who train all year with him. he is also a math teacher. he has the dedicated runners do an AT test, all my workouts are specificly for me and are designed for my race times.

he has been able to predict my race times within 2 seconds!! now thats impressive i would say. since ihave been running wiht him i only have improved. i have took off exactly 1:30 from my 3000m time in 1 year.

anyone have a coach who is this great?

my perfect coach couldn't do that with the times (cc skiing, very hard to predict times) but he's the best coach! Now that I'm at college this year, I am one of the leaders of the ski club up here. I have called him to help me plan workouts and the sort, because he knows everything. He has helped me a lot in the past and I miss that team so much!

I'm that great.

Seriously, if you are training and doing what he says, you are making him a better coach. It is really easy to work with runners who are dedicated and want to improve and are willing to do what it takes to improve. Your dedication makes your coach good and vice versa.

I coach a HS team in central California (Hughson High). We are in a rural area (Hughson population is around 3500) so getting the numbers out for the squad is kind of difficult. That is not an excuse, nor should it be. McFarland (9 consecutive CA Div 4 cross country titles) is a smaller town than Hughson, and if you look at the national rankings, you will see them in there every year.
