Masters Elite

OK, now I have a dumb question: How do I get to the "Elite" Status? I am 46, so it would obviously be the Master's Divison. I see some athletes that are considered"Elite", but nevertheless, there are some regular age-groupers that are better. Any insight?
Thanks!!

Re: Masters Elite
fast, and race frequently enough in the big name events to get noticed and ranked, especially as a masters runner.

or change your login name to "elitemaster".

Re: Masters Elite
I am not at all certain about this but I believe that the elite status is bestowed by USA Triathlon (or other related governing body). I got on the USAT website last year and looked into it. You have to meet certain minimum standards for time/rank in your age group in a certain number of races within one year. Also, of course, you need to be a member of USAT to get ranked. I think it is something you can apply for if you think you meet the standards.

Check out the USAT website - all the info should be there. Sorry, I don't have the link for you...
