Nike Shox - are they worth it?

Hello all - Although I am new to your forum, I am not new to running - but I am looking for an opinion on the Nike Shox Turbo - has anyone tried it? I have been running in Nikes for years and I love them - my favorite has been the Pegasus, but I am curious about the Shox. Any input would be welcome!
Thanks.

My opinion is that they're for slow heavy people. Seriously, the heel is way to high and narrow--even if you don't roll your ankle you're going to seriously shorten, and therefore weaken, your achilles.

Turbos have good heel cushioning, but do not have air in the forefoot. They also lack stability. The pegasus has a full length encapsulated air sole. If you like NIKE and want more shoe you could try the NIKE AIR TAILWIND or the New Air Max that is supposed to be launche this Winter.

Re: Nike Shox - are they worth it?
from what I understand, only the newest Shox model is a Bowerman shoe (nike lingo for technical running shoe, as opposed to overpriced branded merchandise that just looks cool but has no practical value)

So, unless you are looking at the very latest one, I wouldn't bother. And if you are, I'd still get a second opinion from a running store running geek. THey are the best!

The Pegasus are great for under pronators (little ankle movement durning run). The shox I think are just the opposite.

Re: Nike Shox - are they worth it?
I wear Shox only for leisure cuz they look cool and feel good while walking. They are TOO cusioned to train in, not much stability due to the cushioning, and they are just flat out SLOOW. If you are not worried about turnover at all, have good ankles and naturally good mechanics then they might be alright for you. I just bought a pair of ASICS Gel KAYANO 10" and they have been worth every bit of 130$ I recommend the KAYANO to anyone for atleast a try. Ill never train in SHOX.Good Luck.
