Spring Stampede 10U - Brand New Select Team Forming In Spring (North Houston/ Woodlands / Humble / Conroe / Tomball)!

Spring Stampede, a brand new 10U select team will be forming soon in Spring, Texas (very near the Woodlands, Humble, Conroe, Tomball and North Houston).

The team will be associated with and will have its home / practice fields in Bayer Park, home of the Spring Area Youth Softball (SAYS) organization (24811 W. Hardy Rd / just south of Cypresswood).

The team will be based around 2001 players, but some 2000 and exceptional 2002 players will be considered.  We are not only looking for great players, but also dedicated and positive parents.  All players will tryout and all positions are open.

Short Term Goals: Reinforce the fundamentals of the game.  Participate in tournaments beginning in late 2010/ early 2011 through 2012 and finish up by participating in a prestigious national tournament in the summer of 2012.  Such as the USFA World Series, in Panama City or the Disneyworld Fastpitch Classic.

Medium Term Goals: Continue play through 12U and above.  Build a legacy organization that will provide select ball play for several age groups.

Long Term Goals: To prepare and to provide all the tools for each player to succeed at the High School and Collegiate Levels of play.

The team Manager / Head Coach will be Gino Briones who managed the 2009 GHYSA 8U Metro-Rec Champions - Lady Pirates and the 2010 GHYSA 8U Metro-Rec Champions - Barracudas.  Coach Gino also managed the very successful 2010 SAYS 8U All-Stars who went 30-5 for the summer, and finished in first or second place in all tournaments entered (4 Championships & 3 Runner-ups).  But, wins are not the goal, Coach Gino ensures that each player has the tools to succeed at the same time makes certain that the players learn to love the game and enjoy it.  Coach Gino provides a very positive atmosphere for the players.  The wins will be the product of this approach.

We've also added to our coaching staff Dawn Wiedeman who has had a very successful High School and Collegiate career.  Her high school career accomplishments include: making varsity in her freshman year, kept the clean-up spot her whole four years, winning several Offensive & Defensive Player of the Year Awards, being named 1st Team All-District each year, a District MVP Award and named as Team Captain for her Jr. and Sr. Years.  Dawn moved on to UT-Dallas and continued her success in the game she loves.  As a freshman, she starred as a catcher and 3rd baseman receiving an Honorable Mention for the ASC All-Conference team.  In her sophmore year, was a starting pitcher and also played first base.  Then in her junior year, she was the starting shortstop until she suffered an injury that cut her season short.  But most importantly, Dawn completed her academic career with a double major in Child Learning and Development and Psychology.

If you would like to be part of this organization, please, contact Coach Gino at or at 281-733-1019
