Now the JERK is imitating Donna914, with a handle of Donna9144.  We all know that Donna is a real nice lady, so stop wasting our time. Besides, she can spell and knows proper grammer.  If you are such a "great runner" then hit the road and start running.

There's a High School close by that does keep there gates open.  I thought it would be good to sprint the straight and walk the round out.

I like that sprint plan, Maria. If I find a track that's open, I'll have to try it.

I love hearing about folks running halfs and fulls and all that. I've only done a 5-miler so far, but I hope to keep building my distance. You guys are my heroes.

If it is this Nita, you'd never know it cause her twitter persona is much nicer.  And Nita, who is trying ChiRunning and Vibrams, has only ran in a 5K and a 5 miler.  Wow, we are so proud that someone with so much experience can be so wise.  Maybe she could join us for a civil conversation.

Well, i finally got out and ran after being injured, and then catching a cold. Not my best effort, but at least i got my happy a$$ up off the "couch" and did something. I look forward to regaining my speed and distance.

    Does anyone else use Runkeeper?

Does anyone else chew gum to keep their mouths wet while running?

    Happy Trails guys!

I discovered I scream the same way whether I'm about to be devoured by a great white shark or if a piece of seaweed touches my foot.

definition of running: To move swiftly on foot so that both feet leave the ground during each stride.

Good for you for getting out there even if you had a cold. I'm still waiting until my chest congestion clears before I go out again. Really missing it. I don't use Runkeeper, but am curious about how these devices work. Do you have to have an ipod or a smartphone?

Can't help with the chewing gum business. I'm afraid if I tried to chew gum while running I'd just swallow it or choke. I'm busy breathing through my mouth!! ;-)

I breath through my mouth as well, its why I need the gum, to keep my mouth wet.

I DO use runkeeper with my smart phone, im not sure if there is another application for it, but I love that it has a GPS and it keeps track of my pace, and where i have been, and how many miles i have run. It's very helpful. Have a look at it. Just google Runkeeper.

    Happy Trails!!

Sunrunner, I too need my gum and breathe mostly with my mouth. I did a shorter run a couple of days ago, rushed out the door (to beat the rain) and forgot the gum. I sure missed it!

Re: Calling all Penguins (slow runners)

Sunrunner:  I had never heard of Runkeeper until you wrote about it.  I don't have a smartphone and I already have a Garmin, but I can see that Runkeeper would be great for smartphone users.  I alternate between nose and mouth breathing.  I've not tried chewing gum because I would probably either spit it out or swallow it ("walk and chew gum...").

willrun4chocolate:  I also got a private message from your imitator, whom I have reported for abuse.  These people obviously have way too much free time.

Jasmine:  After I asked you about the Music City HM, I realized that it would be only a week before the Wisconsin HM that I have already signed up for, so I probably won't come to Nashville.  A gap of two weeks would probably be OK, but one week is too soon for me, especially with the hills you described.

We had our Wednesday night training run last night.  The fast guys went off to do about six miles.  I did only three because the air temp was 25 with a wind chill of 12 and three miles of sub-freezing air were enough.  I have a cover for my nose and mouth, especially when I'm running into the wind, but then my glasses fog up and I can't see.  That's a real problem at night between the street lights.  All this in the name of fitness.
