I'll admit it's been harder to stay motivated recently.  I think it's the cold weather, the tension waiting to hear one way or another on my JAG app, and waiting to see if my job will stick around after they sell the company in January.  I did discover that sticking to the run schedule made it easier to stay motivated.

@WG - I looked at that one recently too.  I'm also looking at http://muddy-buddy.competitor.com/

    Re: 200+ Pound Club!

Hmmm...motivation.  I have always had a HARD time staying motivated.  I think having a program laid out to follow and making it a firm goal to FINISH it has been a big motivation for me right now.  When c25k is done, I'm going to have to get something else to keep me going!  Overall getting healthy motivations...1) my kid is 16 months old and I'm still holding onto 10 lbs of baby weight - I'd really like to loss that (or more!) before having another little one.  2) Exercise time is the only "me" time I get these days  3) I'm finally feeling some results!  I started this way of thinking about 10 weeks ago - making small changes and walking before starting the C25K and my body is changing...pointed in the right direction!  4) most of my family is diabetic, I need to get my weight and life under control so I don't end up with it too.  5) I want to play and chase and have fun with my kid

There's more reason to make me want to do this but only some of them really stick enough to make me move!  I have TONS of clothes that I'm just barely to big to wear....and some that would probably fit one leg at this point.  I'd like to wear some of it again....at least the jeans as the other small clothes I wore right out of high school are probably not so appropriate for a nearly 30 year old mommy. lol

You all help me stay motivated too!!!  <3  Thank you!!

    Re: 200+ Pound Club!

Thanks for all the words of wisdom about the scheduling. I tend to get a little carried away sometimes and have to remind myself to slow down and go with the flow. I have tried many "diets" in the past and even tried exercising but I always give it up before any good results come from it. This time feels different though maybe because I've already been exercising for over a month and in the past by week 2 I was done! So thinking about 2 rest days in a row freaks me out a bit but you are all right. I have to listen to my body and figure out what works best for me. See I knew you guys would have the right answer for me!!

@Travis-that is so awesome!! I've bookmarked the article so I can go read it a little later. You're famous!!!! And I can't wait to read all about your marathon!

@WG-pnuemonia sucks!!! My suggestion is don't get it. But since you already did.....take care of yourself and for heavens sake keep those lungs where they're suppose to be!! Nobody likes to see lungs just lying around on the floor somewhere. It isn't pleasant.

And about those Muddy Buddy and ToughMudder links (I'm just saying I'm pretty sure these things were thought up somewhere in south Ga. just a guess), that looks absolutely crazy!! I love it! Don't think I could get through it at this point (especially that ToughMudder thing, that looks really serious) but it looks so cool!! And I love love love the banana dog in the video on the Muddy Buddy site!

@merryxmas - if you're worried about taking days off you can always do other exersice on those day.  Walking, weightlifting....I do pilates and other strength training/cardio mix videos...I did TaeBo this week.  Just mixing things up and I'm actually way more coordinated with such things since I've started running! lol

    Re: 200+ Pound Club!

    Hello everyone,

I switched from the treadmill to the pavement3 days ago and attempted w6d2. What a difference it was running outside. It felt like it took alot more muscles to keep me going. I didn't make it through the complete run and ended up walking most of it. So on my run today I did week 4. It was difficult but I made it and kept going once the 30 min was over. Ran 2.6 in 47 min. That is an 18 minute mile. On the treadmill I was doing a 17 min mile. SO not too much of a step back.

My motivation- I just keep imagining myself crossing the finish line. Also, my brother committed to run with me and my family is coming to watch. I don't want to let me or any of them down. I can't imagine how good I will feel when I cross the finish and everyone is there cheering for me. At the end of each run I feel so accomplished. I hold onto that feeling when my legs are aching.

WOW, great story man! Congratulations on taking charge of your life and making those changes! Way to go, that's a really impressive turnaround you did!! I just started watching Biggest Loser this season and it's quite inspiring and I'm a bit bummed now that I hadn't watched it sooner.. I think I had been subconsciously avoiding it for the same reasons you were laughing at it in the past. Again, congratulations!

    Great story, 318!

It was suggested to me years ago to watch Biggest Loser and I laughed it off. I've watched the whole season and am now a fan of the show.

The last biggest loser episode motivated me to push myself harder. Each Thursday since September, I've been doing a mile on the treadmill and today I tortured myself more than usual for a 12:25 besting last week's 13:05.

@JeweI - yes, my outdoor mile seems about a minute slower than my treadmill mile.
