CROSS-TRAINING!

What are some great cross training workouts?????

    Strength training, cycling (both on and off road) swimming, tennis, basketball,... anything that gets you moving and your muscles working.

    Swimming, weightlifting and Walking is one that is overlooked.

    Cross training is a crucial part to any running program. Even if you are not training for an event, you have to mix up your workout to keep a healthy balance. In addition, cross training exercises keep your workout routine fun, and help prevent stress fractures.  The key is to keep variety in any workout. My favorite ways to cross-train can be divided into 5 categories: outdoor sports, ab workouts, weight training, cardio classes, and body resistance workouts.  Good luck with the training and Happy Running!
