I know someone else started a Thread like this too,  not much action...  I think because there are a lot of New people just starting to run.

WOW 6.25 I'm so jealous! When I run alone my pace is faster, when I run with my girlfriend my pace is slower.

I finished my first week yesterday. Problem is that it included some walking as I finally got access to a track to do some intervals and got a small calf strain. My 30 min was 1.5 mi run and 1.2 mi walk  in 33 minutes.  But the calf injury is coming along nicely with only mild discomfort during therun and couldn't even feel it during the walking part.

I am taking off for San Diego as soon as the snow leaves. I'll be there for the better part of 3 weeks and hope to be able to fit in the One Hour schedule or an approximation of same.

Does any one else walk during these runs?

Good to hear your calf is not that bad:-)

I think a few people here include walks in these runs. It's better that stopping completely:-)

    Paulin: congrats on your graduation!!!

I went for a long run on Saturday, hoping to cover 15 km but the paths were all pure ice so you had to run on the side in deep wet snow (and jumping over numerous dog poops). I ended up doing 11,5 km and felt like having run a half marathon. Blah. I got out again yesterday to cheer up since it looked like it had melted enough for the ice to be gone completely but it hadn't. The park was a combination of ice, wet snow and mud so I got out after one lap and went to run in the neighborhood as the roads and sidewalks were already clear. I did 7 km and was happy again:-)

    AAAAAAAGH!

Does 1 hour and 40 minutes of shoveling snow count toward my training?  When the sweat got to the outer layer, it FROZE!   I was wearing cleets on an old pair of running shoes. I was generating enough heat that I was steaming according to a neighbor who was trying to walk his dog.  What a miserable day!

The good news is that I would probably quit after 30 minutes last year and never finished the drive way.  I can now get both cars out of the garage and up to the street. Problem is the street is covered in 5 inches of snow!  I only did half of the circular driveway. The real wide part in front of the garage is just too steep and wide. I can back out of the garage then turn and go out the other wing.

This is the second year in a row of near record snow fall in my area. GoreBull warming at its finest!

Yes, it does!:-) Over herethe snow is already melting slowly but the winter is not over yet. We've had a lot of snow these past two years.

I've done a little test today, ran 18 km at steady 75% BPM max (anaerobic treshold) and it was great, took me 1h53min. Now I'm totally positive I can finish the half marathon!:-)

I ran 14.5 miles Saturday and 3.6 miles on Sunday training for the Southern Indiana Classic Marathon in April, it will be my 4th full marathon.

I have also signed up for the Chicago Marathon in October, it will be my 5th full marathon and 1st World Major.

I have started a blog to document my journey from an overweight, out of shape couch potato to a marathon runner. I would appreciate any and all comments, questions, critiques and constructive criticisms to my blog as my desire is to make my blog a very good runner's blog.
