is this goal realistic?
i just completed my first marathon on sunday (nyc) and had such an amazing time that i'd like to try to qualify for boston (where i've lived for the past seven years). i ran nyc in 4:30. i'd need to run a marathon in 3:10 to qualify for boston. that's a gigantic amount of time to shave off, i realize.
i'm considering signing up for the miami marathon (january 28) and training like **** over the next three months to try to break 3:10. my heart and mind are definitely in this... i'm just worried my body might not be able to handle such a giant push for speed. i had some peroneal tendonitis a few weeks after i started training for nyc, but stretching and iceing helped with that.
is this a realistic goal?
