Escape from Alcatraz Alternatives

has anyone run the Enviro-sports Alcatraz race? good race? well run? Is it a good alternative now that Alcatraz is off the table for recreational triathletes?

I ran Escape in 2000. Based on what I'm seeing re. qualifying, that's the last time I'll run it!

dunno but the escape is on to do list
been wanting to do that race since I started tri's. it's a shame it is such a sucess. is there a lottery you can get it?

I heard that you could attend a 3 day camp and get a slot for Escape. Do you know anything about this?
