Happy New Year to everyone from Australia.

Well i am loving the C25K program, cant believe i can jog 25 mins now, i found 60 seconds hard 7 weeks ago and used to readthese posts thinking i'll never make week 7 - thank you all for inspiring me!

I survived the festive food/ silly season with no gym as i was away on holidays. I just did C25K every second day, plus lots of snorkeling, walking and kayaking. And no christmas dinner - just my healthy food! still recorded a loss.

Hey all! I haven't been on in a while.  I haven't weighed in about a week or so, but overall I still have about 100lbs to lose.  I've pretty much maintained over the holidays, but haven't been able to get on track....lack of motivation and just wanting to eat everything in sight I'll be 25 March 8 (Fat Tuesday) and I would like to make a short term goal of getting to 246lbs.  This is the weight i started at a couple years ago on sparkpeople...currently i'm at 260 ish.  By summer i would like to be at or very close to 200 and by the end of the year i would like to be at 163...this is the max weight for my height in order to join the navy.  What are some things that keeps you ladies motivated?? Happy MLK day!

Hi Guys, I'm still here, I started the Hal Higdons half marathon thread here and hope to be running a half marathon in March! I'm seeing a new Endocrinologist 1/25  and hope she can shed some light on why my weight is at a stand still. I've been lifting weights and increasing my runs to see if this will help. I know I have lost inches but not weight??

    Re: Weight loss buddies

Hi everyone!  I’m new here, although I’ve been lurking for quite a while!  Figured it was time for me to stop reading about all of you and chime in.  I am 40, almost 41, 5’8” and 169 pounds.  Mother of two.  I want to lose 15-20 pounds.  I’ve done it before, about 3 times now.  I lose and I gain it back.  I’m hoping with incorporating running into my lifestyle it will help me maintain once I get back to that magical number again.  I have so many clothes that I can’t wear, and I just want to be a healthy weight again.  I graduated from the C2K a few years ago, and have been running on and off since…more off.  We have some trail runs coming up the next few weekends, and even though I will have to walk/run…I’ll be out there!

Flamomof3 – As a former Weight Watcher, the first thing that pops into my head is…are you eating enough?  Whenever people at WW can’t budge their weight a lot of times the leaders would suggest eating more, and it worked most of the time.  Just a thought.

    Re: Weight loss buddies

Hi June, as requested ... things that motivate me:

    • the mans voice of the C25K ipod app,
    • i buy a nice top or pants one size smaller and hang it on the back of my door so i see it, then try it on every few weeks till it fits.
    • buying clothes from the regular racks at the shops
    • eating yummy healthy food.
    • most of all doing my blog has been the best motivation, i have been very honest and write down every thing i eat and take pics etc, then i told just a few peeps about it and as i go one i have told more friends.
    • the fact that i have inspired my brother and cousin motivates me too.
    • I also have broken down my amount to lose in to three sections, 22kg, then 10kg then 5 kg. its a nicer way of saying 37kg.
    • I treat myself every 5kg to small things like movies, a strongbow, go the aquarium etc,  and for my first big goal (3kg's to go) asking my bit on the side for a ride on the back of his Harley. When i get to the 37 kg mark i'm going to dive with the sharks at the aquarium (unless i chicken out)

    Hope that helps.

I have lost 19kg so almost at my first goal then i will aim for the 10 then 5.

    Re: Weight loss buddies

Hello everyone.  I'm new to the forum.  I'm 44 and mum/mom to a teenage daughter and live in UK.  I started the C25k last year and graduated in April.  I continued to run over the next few months but didn't diet and eventually with all the BBQ food etc i gained and gained pounds, because let's not lie, running makes you hungry.  After finishing the programme I had no focus or determination left and I lost my mojo.

Anyway, rejoined the C25K at week 3 on 1.1.11 and joined weight watchers to help my eating.  For those of you who have questioned this before Yes I do eat enough.  Some days I find it hard to fill myself and others I eat way more than I should, but having activity points is a bonus.  I've lost 7lb in the last two weeks, 6 the first and 1 last week.  I don't want to go fast as I know I will not keep it off.

I am like Cozibee, I break it down into little bite sized chunks and treat myself.  My first being 7lb, I've ordered new running tights and top.  Next is my 5% goal and then it will be 14lbs. We work in stones in the uk so half a stone and a stone.  I have a list of goals other than completing the C25K and moving on to the bridge to 8K.  I have goals when I get to buy new shoes, a bag and hopefully a new slim fitting dress for a family party at the end of May.

I have 28lb to shift and so far managed 7lb.  With a lot of help from you guys I know I can do it.

Small steps lead to great things.
Walk before you jog, jog before you run, once you can run you are free.

Morning all!  Thanks beecozi for your list!  I think i will put a list together of things that can keep me motivated....you gave me some really good ideas.  I checked out your blog briefly yesterday and i like your setup!  I'll have to go back later and read some of your posts.  I'm restarting the c25k this morning, so W1D1 here i come!  I'm using my garmin for the first time, so that should be fun.  Have a great day

Maybe I'm not eating enough so I'm going to write it all down and take with me to the Drs on Tuesday.

Soooooo... I'm still here! Yes, I know I haven't been too active in this post, but I still check it here and there. I guess life keeps us too too busy. Children too. Well, I have established a new goal for myself: 7 pounds by June: oh, the summer! I am almost embarrased to admit that I've gained back a couple of pounds Only myself to blame but, it has rained and rained for days, and exercising has not been possible. Staying indoors and having food at hand has. It is true too that I'm PMS and therefore I'm RAVENOUS!! So, the weight gain may not be that much as I think (and hope) it is. We'll see... still, the following days will be dry and sunny, and running will happen again. And getting back to eating in moderation will have to happen too.

Morning! Lola...don't beat yourself up too much.  You'll get back on track   The hardest thing for me is the eating, but i've managed working out again.  Doing W1D2 of the C25K today.  Was supposed to do it this morning before work, but had a hard time pulling myself from the bed   Anywho....just wanted to pop in real quick...have a great day!!
