My daughter is playing 12u travel ball & they want her to be the main catcher on the team. She's caught before in our area league but I was wanting insight from others if you think she can succeed at this position with her being left handed? I haven't seen anyone left handed catching.

If she has the skills to play catcher and works at it, being left handed should not stop her. It is not a big issue in fastpitch.

not and issue in fastpitch like it is in baseball. my daughter is a LH catcher and also the catcher for the 2009 College World Series Champion Huskies was left handed. Danielle Lawrie told my kid that she loves a LH catcher because her best pitch is a curve and a LH catcher can frame it up better for her.

Oh wow I didn't know that. Thanks for the input. Its greatly appreciated... I will have my daughter check that catcher out. She'll be excited to know that because she is good.
