This has been a really good week for me, workout-wise (other than the fact that I still can't run w/o pain on the "shingles side," that is). I walked 6 miles three different days (twice it was 2x3 miles with a little time in between, but no more than two hours, and once non-stop). Plus I weight trained and did the elliptical two days, plus walking to and from the gym both times. Today there was a 30% chance of rain but I blew that off and walked anyway. Wound up walking home in 44 degree temps. and light rain in shorts! I didn't want to take the time to change back into my pants as I wanted to beat the deluge (which never came anyway). We're expecting 72 degrees tomorrow, and then 30's and maybe snow on Monday! The weather has just been all ove rthe place, but I sure enjoyed Thursday and Friday. They were really gorgeous, 75 and 55 and sunny.
Now that I've walked about 10k non-stop for a "long one" two weeks in a row, I'm really itching to add another mile so hopefully the weather will be conducive to attempting that by the end of next week. Spring couldn't come too soon for me, as long as it doesn't get hot and humid too fast!
Congrats to our two "big mileage" guys - I can't even imagine running 17 miles but I'd love to be able to do it again some day. The last time I did that kind of mileage was on an 18-mile hike on the Katy trail about 12 years ago. Our dogs were so beat afterward they just wanted to get in the van and sleep, nevermind supper. Poor babies - they didn't know we were going to go so far and spent the first two hours romping back and forth on the trail adding even more mileage, until they finally figured it out.
