Friday 12/21

I guess it's officially winter now... and it's the last day of work for me this year!

Yesterday my 5er became a 3er because I didn't have enough time. Most annoying. Shooting for 7 or so miles on the track after work at a celebration pace.

Re: Friday 12/21
Good morning. We got a good amount of snow since 5 p.m. yesterday. Maybe 6 or so inches and it is still lightly snowing. No running for me as it is a rest day. Eventurlly I will have to add another running day into the mix next year. I think that will be Tuesday. RunAsics have fun with the running on the track. Have a great morning everyone.

Re: Friday 12/21
3 easy treadmill miles as warm up, then a good weight training session.

RunAsics - that's a little different then the celebration I have planned for after work this Friday evening ;)

Re: Friday 12/21
Morning everyone.

Once again feeling a little better. Think the pred may be kicking in. Still at least a week away from any test and hoping that the light at the end of the tunnel stays lit. At least I made my mileage goal for the year before the injury! Hoping to start back by the first (all appendages crossed) and perhaps still have time to train for Tacoma in May.

Re: Friday 12/21

Good morning all.

RunAsics - I am right there with you. Last day of work for the year. Alex posted on KR this morning with his last day of school for the year.

Dan - Hope all is well.

Kfuller - Good morning to you and hope you have a great rest day.

Crantson - great warmup this morning before the weight training.

This morning I went for 4.25 miles running. With a two mile tempo run in the middle at a 7:20 pace. Slowly working the speed back in the mix.

Then I set out for a bike ride. 20.3 miles in 1:12:57 (avg 16.7 MPH).

Happy training all. http://www.kickrunners.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_salut.gif

Hope all have a great day!

David

Forgot to ask, has anyone figured out how to retrieve their logs from CR?

Re: Friday 12/21

Dan--sending healing vibes!!!

Glad to hear that Alex is doing well. I was wondering how he was doing.

Fishbowl for me this morning. Was supposed to be 2000, but since I can't keep track of laps, I know I went over. Watched a bunch of Ian Thorpe clips so I can work on my form. 55:47. Yah, still slow....

I forgot a bunch of stuff this morning. No tape for my foot. No gel for my HRM. And no garmin! Went with it anyway. Ran it way too hard. I needed it though. 3.6m, 30:15, 8:24pace.

Tomorrow we were planning on heading up to my hometown for Christmas. Take Grandma out for lunch, then head over to the nursing home to spend time with Grandpa. Talked to my aunt last night. Grandpa is not doing well at all. Often unresponsive. Grandma knows the end is near. Then, this morning, I learned that Grandpa is back in the hospital...

Re: Friday 12/21
RunAsics, actually I better only have a mini celebration since I just got the e-mail that my running group wants to meet at 7 tomorrow morning for our long run. Yikes!

Hawk - I wanted to add my congratulations too!

Me - I'm resting today. I will most likely pick one place to post to the daily thread just as I did before Teh Great CR-KR Shutdown. Today, I'll crosspost and I'll do that sporadically until things shake out.

Cheers,

Billy

Re: Friday 12/21
Shoveled the snow from half of the driveway and there is lots of it. So in a little bit I will go back out and finish the rest of the driveway. Need to get a snowblower. It would make things easier. Enjoy the day everyone.

Re: Friday 12/21

Five miles today. This vacation week hasn't gone as well as I had hoped, after three snowstorms in eight days. I need 50 miles in the last 10 days to get to 1,600 for the year and that probably isn't going to happen. We'll see.

I suppose at some point I will check out Kickrunner... isn't Grizzly over there? I miss him...

Good runs, all

Re: Friday 12/21
Mornin ya’ll,

Asics- Enjoy the run later
Kfuller- Enjoy the rest, glad you got your run in before the
snow hit
Cranston-Nice workout
Dan- Glad to hear you’re feeling better
David- Nice run this morning
4BM- Is it your grandpa or your dad? Thought you might refer
to him as grandpa since that’s what he would be to your boys. Either way, I’ll
say a prayer for him
Billy- Enjoy the rest, I’m with you, I’m going to pick one
place at some point
Baba- Nice run today, maybe you'll be able to make your goal!

Another 3 mile run for me today in a little bit. I’m going
to do some cleaning (vacuuming, dusting, picking up, etc.) before I head out. I’m
home one day and they’ve got me cleaning, sheesh! Haha, I don’t mind helping
out. Then after my little sister gets home from school I’m taking her shopping
so she can buy (with my money I guess since she doesn’t have her own) mom and
dad Christmas gifts.

Have a nice day and good runs/workouts!!

PS i have the hardest time with the formatting for typing replies on here, I have to fight with the formatter to get it to turn out right. Some stuff is easier but other stuff (like spacing between lines) is harder to work out.

Re: Friday 12/21

Not only is it the 1st day of winter but also the shortest day of the year. That means we'll start seeing more of the sun each day from now on!

It appears there are lots of busy people taking off days to get ready for the holiday and others trying to squeeze a workout in. I'm in the latter category today, hoping to head over to G. Mason for a spin workout. But I also need to meet with my boss for a little while and he's not in the office yet, and I'm not sure how long he's staying once he gets here. So the workout plan is a little tentative right now. I guess the backup plan will be to do some evening elliptical work if the spin plan falls through.

Megs - I agree the formatting tools here don't work so well. Oh and on the run, whenever you're up to go just give me a call. After taking two very light recovery weeks I'll be starting to ramp it up a little next week, prior to my full-on spring marathon training starting New Year's Day.

Have a great Friday all!

Re: Friday 12/21
CMJ- I'll probably shoot ya an email after new years. I'm really busy until then, but I'll have more time and my hours are flexible at work (It's over in the tyson's area). You're a much faster runner than me, so it might be best if we ran on a day where either you had an easy run planned (it'd be really easy for you, I promise!) or maybe if you wanted to do a short run together on a rest day, itd be nice and easy so I don't think it'd hurt any. We can figure it out through email, but right after new years would work best for me.
