Omega-3 fatty acids, found mainly in fatty fish such as salmon, rainbow  trout, mackerel and sardines, offers health benefits that can not be  obtained from other foods. Omega-3 fatty acids from fish are lowering  triglycerides, reduce abnormal heart rhythms, reduce blood pressure and  improve regulation of blood clotting.

Omega-3 fatty acids may enhance the effectiveness of drugs prescribed to  lower blood cholesterol. According to the same study, people who  consume ocean fish are not likely to develop cardiovascular disease,  obesity or diabetes.
