    Re: 100 Day Challenge

Day 67 (Sun) - 1 mile warm-up, then 5K race (PR) followed by .7 mi cooldown walk. 2PM race had 56 deg forecast, but it was cloudy, windy and 47deg.  Not as bad as snow, but still....

    Re: 100 Day Challenge

Sunday - woke up feeling pretty good.  walked dog 30 minutes...so, i got in the bare minimum....thankfully b/c now i'm feeling pretty warn and just beat.

need to recover...hope soon.  It's ironic, we like to do these races, but, I personally get antsy with the tapering, then there's the climax of the race, then recovery...

then feel a little "let down" since the race is over.  But, i do like my regular routine and can't wait to get back into it.

Day 10 - ran 30 minutes and walked 25.        Day 8 on Saturday's remark was actually Day 9 - got lost on my count.   Hoping for a warmer trend to start Monday, but Monday night return to Chicago for 4 days.   April is on the horizon and surely that means Spring.....????  right?......sure hope so!

    Re: 100 Day Challenge

Congratulations GIJen on your 50K and JoAnn on your 5K PR.  Looking forward to reading race reports.  Congratulations to everyone else who ran 5Ks this weekend, or continued towards meeting their 100 day challenge goals.  We are out there accomplishing something for ourselves, our families, and I do believe - inspiring others.

My days 84 and 85 (or 85 and 86?) were pretty much cobbled together to accomplish 30 minutes of activity each day due to a family emergency.  They included things like multiple stair case repeats, and a lot of in-place activities like toe raises and stretches, etc.  I am hoping that I will be able to get back to my regular activities soon.

    Re: 100 Day Challenge

    Day 33 Yesterday - 5 Miles on the TM including C25K W7D1 (10:30ish pace).

Yesterday was BRUTAL!  Nothing was going right for me, lower legs and back hurt, I cramped up about 10min in, couldn't breath due to some congestion and my iPod gave me fits.  I almost quit at about the 12min mark but decided that yesterday was a good test of mental toughness.  I'm very happy with myself for pushing through but I'm paying for it today.  My hips, feet and calves hurt more then any other time I can remember.  I know I changed up my stride yesterday to compensate for the pain/soreness in my legs but didn't expect to feel it in my hips today.

I'll need to figure out something low impact for tonight if I want any chance of completing W7D2 tomorrow.  Any Suggestions?
