20s Friday - Anyone around?

I don't think many will be so I won't bother with the full recap from the two-day snow trip (referred to as "alpine therapy" on my vacation request form at work). I'll save all that for next week after everyone's back. I was off the last two days doing that, now have one back to work, and four more off.

I am exhausted!

Re: 20s Friday - Anyone around?

Morning folks!

Glad you had fun up on the mountain for a couple days. I've bascially been just counting the hours until this week is over because then I'm on vacation until January 2nd. I've actually had a few workouts lately. I had a chest and back workout at the gym last night and I had a short 2 mile run on Wednesday night. It was good times.

I'm sure everyone is heading out soon for holiday travel. I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas.

Re: 20s Friday - Anyone around?

Hey 20's,

I'm still here and will be here all day. Did my 5 mile run this morning. There is still some snow around here but it is melting. I hope enough of it melts today so that I can do my 23 miler on the trails tomorrow instead of looping around the streets. This will be the last big run then my taper starts.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone.

Re: 20s Friday - Anyone around?

Hey Y'all!

I'm here. I still haven't made it to the Y, but I have been productive. Both our cars now have Wisconsin plates and I got my drivers license taken care of. Overall, it only took about 45 min. at the DMV, so it could have been much worse. I had yet another ultrasound and (as I expected) the newest due date is March 21st. I now have 5 of them. I'm still telling people the baby is due "march-ish"

I'm ticked at my brother now because he flaked on me. He was supposed to come to the doctor with me today. The plan was to have him hang out with DS in the waiting room while i took care of my appointment and the glucose test. He overslept and called to tell me he just woke up as I was supposed to be leaving for my appiontment. Ugh. I'll have to bug him about that later. So I had to drag DS with me to both the appointmenta nd the blood test. The stuff they make you drink gave me quite the sugar high, and I'm crashing now so I feel like I could sleep.

otherwise I need to take a quick trip to the store to grab a few things I'll need for Christmas dinner and I'll be all set for this weekend. Tomorrow we'll probably hang out with one of DH's friends who is in town for the holiday. Christmas eve we're hanging with my in laws and probably going to mass with my FIL. Christmas day I'm cooking the big dinner and my folks and little brother are coming over.

soldevi: Sounds like the "alpine therapy" was needed. Enjoy your long weekend!

proto: I hope things melt on the trails! i wouldn't want to do loops on a street for 23 miles!

Well, I better go and grab some lunch. I hope everyone has Happy Holidays!

Hey all-

Bleh... logged in 3 **** times again. This place has been dead lately! Today I wrote my biggest commercial account yet, so that's a pretty big deal for me. This account is worth about 1/6 of my total business written since April, so I've been working hard on it and I pulled it off. Woooo!

I might have some time to reply with more later, but for now, this is it. Need to tie up some loose ends around here before the 4 day weekend.

Have a Merry Christmas everyone, I should be popping in here and there and I expect to eat too much, drink too much, and get a few runs in to start burning it all off!

Re: 20s Friday - Anyone around?
I'm still here. I completely hate this f***ing place, so I haven't posted much. I actually almost even lost my steam to post this post after I tried to log in, couldn't, went somewhere else on the site to log in, managed to get in that way, but then couldn't find the f***ing message boards. I think this is actually only my second post on these stupid forums ... not for lack of trying.

At any rate, I've been seriously busy lately! Between work, and Christmas shopping, and Christmas socializing (I was out till 4a.m. on Wednesday night -- I slept for over 12 hours last night, and I still don't feel normal!), and the gym, I haven't had a whole lot of free time! I'm among the many many people (it seems) who have all of next week off work, so it's a very welcome break!

Great to see you around here again crexion. Did you post about your trip? I'll have to go back and try to find it if you did.

I'd reply to everyone else, but I don't feel like opening up another f***ing browser and clicking all over the g**d*** place trying to find the thread so I could read what ya'll wrote again. Do we think this place is actually going to improve at all, or should we find some new digs?

Re: 20s Friday - Anyone around?
Please everyone go check out runningAHEAD.com at some point. A fair number of CR's are there, the site is pretty fast, the forums are NICE compared to this terrible place. You can see the entire thread, no side-bar ads, etc. They also have a decent running log system, so that's a perk as well. Oh, and you only have to log in ONCE. :-)

I'm already lurking there, this place is just painful to me. I'm ready to abandon ship as soon as you're with me. Active.com is not going to change, it's too large to really care about us little CRunner's. The admin over at RA is really busting his *** to make everyone feel welcome and get everyone's logs uploaded from CR.

I was lurking around RunningAhead a bit yesterday. It seemed to be a bit more of a lovefest than I'd normally choose for myself, but I'm happy to head over there to chat with you guys. (Heh. I actually just clicked over there for a minute, and it looks like that's where the 40s group ended up. We could be the 20s Refugees!) I'm on board with whatever everybody wants to do. I'm happy to send a note to everybody whose contact information I have to let them know where we went, and I suppose we could even do a redirect post for the first week or two just to make sure everybody knows where we went.

Re: 20s Friday - Anyone around?
They use CAS for there authenication which I've written connectors for in the application I work on. It's not designed to have an autologin feature but as long as you keep your browser window open you shouldn't have problems having to re-login. I leave my browser open all the time so I only have to login after long periods of inactivity (like the next day). But yeah, unless they change their authentication system it's never going to work if you open multiple browsers. When I do login I save the url of the thread I'm in then login and paste the url back into my address bar so I don't have to navigate back. That part is a bug in the Active implementation of CAS since it's a fundemental part of the CAS system to redirect back to the same page you were at before logging in. Ok, now back to running talk....

Re: 20s Friday - Anyone around?

Hey CG!

I never got around to actually posting a full recap of the trip. It was a great time, though I would have loved to stay their longer. I spent most of the time just relaxing either on the beach on the lanai. Lot's of margaritas, mai tai's, beer etc was consumed! :D

I'm fine with moving the thread someplace else. I'm not a huge fan of this site layout either. The login system is annoying, though it doesn't seem to require multiple logins it just doesn't clearly indicate that you have successfully logged in. I usually just log in once, then when it brings me back to the log in screen I make my way back to the forums to find I was successfully logged in but the site didn't really tell me that I was.

If we do move we should definitely make regular posts over here letting people know we moved.
