After years of energetic competition, and after many, many months of  thoughtful discussions, the executive boards of the Bethlehem Blast and  Lehigh Valley Comets have announced that the two organizations have  agreed to merge, and will play the 2011-2012 DVHL season under a new  name:  The LEHIGH VALLEY FLAMES, Our new name, The Lehigh Valley Flames, draws from both teams' current  names. From the Comets we draw imagery of a fiery, flaming tail of a  comet -- and from the Blast, the intense flames that explode from the  historic blast furnaces after which the team took its name.  The merger was presented to the DVHL board jointly by Blast President  Sandy Steidel and Comets President Alec Weiss on February 9, 2011. It  was accepted with overwhelming approval.  It  is our goal that the emblem of the Lehigh Valley Flames shall come to  represent the best of what youth hockey has to offer - and that our  players will quickly be recognized as members of one of the premier  youth hockey organizations in Pennsylvania.  Evaluations begin April 12th!  We are looking for Mites through Midget.  AA, A and B from Squirt through Midget.  Visit our website for evaluation and registration information.  To get the latest news and updates join us on Facebook.
