So last night, my wife and I were so busy, we ended up not running W2D3 till 10PM last night. When we finished, we came home, and other than setting the coffee pot, went straight to bed. My question is "Is it ok to run before bed like we did? We enjoyed the peace and quiet and the cool night air, we may start doing all the C25K runs after dark, but probably not so close to bed. Just wondering if doing a run before bed and having an elevated heart rate while trying to sleep is healthy. What are your thoughts?
I don't think that it's necessarily unhealthy but, as you progress and your runs get longer, you'll need more and more time to calm down before you'll be able to get to sleep. I used to do all of my runs at night and, on average, it would take me a good hour and a half to get to a point at which I could sleep.
