Hey (to whoever's still listening!),
This will be my last post on the c25k.
Final updates:
I DID run the Dec. 18th Reindeer 5k. It was a throng of people of all ages and sizes in cold cold weather. (Hey, 30s or less is freezing to me!). I was excited and scared-not really sure of what...but I went for it. I wasn't aiming to make any PRs but figured the quicker I finished, the quicker I could get to my car! I completed it in 31:13 (chip time). It was my first "chipped" race. I finished in the middle of my age group and in the 2nd quartile of 400+ runners. To me, it was SWEET victory that I took my tail out there and ran it in the cold. I even almost did it with NO walking but the last steep incline got me for a good 10 sec walk afterward. I find that I'm still holding back a bit, but I am still forging ahead in the race back to ME.
Using my Micoach, I've moved up to long runs at medium tempo pace for an hour! (Can you believe it?!?!? =D) In 55 minutes, I know I can run 5 miles and still feel like I could do a couple more miles. The only drawback these days, is that I love to run at night so...I must resort to indoor running on treadmills on some days. I'm aiming to be very comfortable with 5 to 6 mile runs by the end of January.
Goals for 2011:
1. Stay as injury-free as possible
2. Run consistently 4 to 5 days a week
3. Complete a 5k in sub 30minutes
4. Complete a 10k
5. Increase my love of and comfort with running!
Alrighty then...off to find a 10K or new blog
Health Benefits Evidenced: daily excitment to keep running, lost 5 pounds, breathing deeply and more fully, back to sangin' (in the shower and car), and....happy-happy-joy-joy ME!
