Being a coach is much more than Xs and Os.  The biggest thing about being a coach is learning how to develop players and how to get the most out of players.  You have to be able to motivate them, influence them, help them to work together more effectively.  If you want to get better, coach as much as you can: youth teams, church league teams, summer camps...wherever you can.

What age are you coaching?

spend more time focusing on fundamentals than plays...You can have the best plays in the world and if your kids can't dribble or pass efffectively it really doesn't matter.

Too many coaches use a 2 hour practice to run 30 minutes of drills and 90 minutes diagraming x and o...don't be that guy.
