Is it a meniscus tear????

I am some what new to running. I have noticed that with a certain pair of shoes I have a pulling sensation within the knee. It doesn't happen with another pair of shoes. Is this the meniscus or is it just runner's knee????

I wouldn't think it is a meniscus tear as when I did mine it hurt all the time. Changing shoes made no difference. If I had a pair of shoes that was leaving my knee hurting and putting any kind of stress on it, I would quit wearing them and get something else. Maybe another pair of the ones that aren't bothering you or something similar.
