Stops me from ever considering it.

Enough said.

I'm 61. I have three beautiful tattoos. My husband finds them sexy and intriguing--so do I. Age prejudices suck as much as racial and gender prejudices.

Re: Tattoo commemorating my first marathon
I'll be running my 1st marathon 2 years from now and plan to get a tattoo comemorating it, too. I will probably look to see if there is a logo that the marathon I decide upon uses, and I will have that be the tattoo. Underneath, I'll have script showing the date and my running time.

It is not an "old person" issue they usually make reference to, it an "old tattoo" issue.

The question should be "have you ever seen somebody with a tattoo they got 40 years earlier?"

I think it is awesome!! I saw an idea for a tatoo tonight under the topic "running tatoo" on this board...and I'm stealing it and may even get it tomorrow. And I am no where near 26.2....but I think it will inspire me to get there....and when I do I will get 26.2 under it! You will have to check it out.

Re: Tattoo commemorating my first marathon
I would have never thought of the Tattoo to remember your first marathon, but I think it is great...I would go for like the logo (if is a popular run), or maybe just an artistic" 26.2 ". Your shoulder is cool, but I would maybe consider near the ankle so you see it every time you lace up your running shoes.

Re: Tattoo commemorating my first marathon
I got this tattoo last September. It is the logo for the Des Moines Marathon. I have completed the Des Moines Marathon twice and the Des Moines Half-Marathon twice.
