Re: New Runner, Week One complete

Congratulations all the way around, Michael.  So glad you found a pair of shoes that were comfortable.  Extending your runs will make future weeks so much easier.  Inspiring your wife to begin was icing on the cake!!!  Successful week so far!

Re: New Runner, Week One complete

Hey Michael, Keep up the good work!!! The new shoes should help. I like you am 6'3 and weighed 285 lbs last June. I now weigh 225lbs and have run two 10Ks, run 15-20 miles a week, and haven't felt this good in quite awhile. It looks like your on the right path so keep faith in yourself and find some folks to run with if possilble. You can do it brother!!!! Dont forget to keep up with some strenghtning and some form of cross training to help round out your lifestyle change. It is truly a lifestyle change we're talking about here. There are times I fall off the wagon with my eating, but there's really no excuse for it. Just bad eating habits for a lot of years. I wish you the best with your quest and keep checking back in to let us know about your progress and victories!!! D.

Re: New Runner, Week One complete

WOW what a story Michael, congratulations.  I too have just finished week 1 in the C25K.  Looking forward to getting healthy.  Since March I've been able to drop from 215 to 204 (this morning)  All I've done was watch what I eat, it is a journey.  Also this month May I've deemed No Soda Month.  Not that I drink a lot of them, but I do like my Verner's Ginger-Ale.

    Have a great weekend.

Best of luck to you Michael.
