About Me:
I ran cross country in high school, but I didn't run in college. Right after I graudated from college I was in a pretty bad car accident and it took me a few months to be able to walk. Shortly after all of my rehab I started having babies and before I knew it I had an extra 30-some pounds that just wouldn't go away! I began getting back into fitness by doing yoga and pilates in the morning and then taking my kids for walks in the double stroller after work. Over time running and aerobics replaced yoga and pilates, my kids grew out of their stroller, and I've lost close to 40 pounds. I don't consider myself a competitive runner. I run because it's something I enjoy. I feel like every day I can get out there and run is a gift and it's a great means for me to refocus and feel good. My biggest accomplishment in running so far is that I ran the OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini Marathon last year. I hope this will be the first of several minis for me.
