Hey guys. iHoops is back up. The last week I have been working out except Tuesday. My workout on Monday was 50 squats, 50 calf raises, half a mile on the treadmill, half a mile on the elliptical and 50 lateral pulldowns. On Wednesday, I walked almost a mile with my mom and my brother. My Uncle also told me something to do to improve my vertical leap. He said to jump up the stairs one by one and to jump up and down the curb, facing the same way the whole time. I didn't do it on Wednesday, but I did it Thursday. My goal was for Thursday, was to hop up the stairs 5 times. (There are about 15-20 stairs on the staircase.) And jump up and down the curb 20 times. I reached my goal on the jumps and I walked almost another mile with my mom and brother. On Friday, my mom, brother and I took a half mile walk and walked around the paved path at our park. Hey guys. So earlier this morning, I was looking on Operation Sports for news about NBA 2K12. I found some. Operation Sports went to xbox360achievements and found the trophies. P.S. don't worry, my PS3 people, these achievements are for us too. Here is the link if you want to read it: http://www.xbox360achievements.org/game/nba-2k12/achievements/. For me, this reveals a lot for My Player mode, Association, NBA's Greatest Mode and etc. For My Player, it reveals that you can recieve contracts, be drafted in any spot, including the lottery, be inducted in the Hall of Fame and donate money to NBA Cares. Those are amazing features. I wanted them to get contracts because it just makes sense. Most NBA players base their decision for who they are going to play for by money. So that is a nice feature. For NBA Cares, I wanted a charity thing and that is nice to get because that's sorta an off court live thing and I know a LOT of people want that. For being one of the lottery picks in the draft, I'm so happy that you can be drafted in those spots because last year, the highest you could be drafted was like 7th, even if you played better then John Wall, Evan Turner or Derrick Favors! For Hall of Fame, I almost fainted, LOL. So there is not a lot to say about that. For Association, it's seems like the same thing as last year, but you never know. For NBA's Greatest Mode, if you win 5 games, you get an achievement, if you win 10 games, you get an achievement and if you win all 15 games, you get an achievement. I think NBA 2K12 will sell over 5 million copies just because of the My Player mode and NBA's Greatest Mode. Thank you all for reading the whole thing. Stay tuned and tell your friends.
Hey guys. I didn't do anything today, but I did do something yesterday. I shot around, doing elbow jumpers, free throws and corner jumpers. I took about 300 shots. I think I made 125. I am getting better for the season but I always want to get better, more and more. Sorry this wan't a long post. I'll try doing something tomorrow. Thanks for reading. Hey guys. As my status reads, I'm back from Newport, OR. I had fun and got some exercise. But now I'm home. My mom wants me to start doing more dancing because it helps speed up my movements. I tried doing ballet when I was a little girl, but that didn't work. Ironically, that's I how started playing basketball. My brother was taking a basketball camp and after ballet class, I would aslo take the basketball from the boys and I wouldn't give it back. Anyways, so I danced for thrity minutes today. I did Latin dances. LOL. Yesterday, I did Latin dances for about an hour. I'm on puishment, extra chores and early bedtime, for the last day so I can finally go outside tomorrow. Hey guys. I know this post is a day late but it's better for me post then not post at all. But yesterday I drove down to Newport, OR with my family. It was a long trip but we all still had energy so we got to got to the pool for 30 minutes and go to the gym for 30 minutes. At the gym I did a mile on the elliptical and 100 pushups. Today, ESPN revealed the 15 legends for the The Greatest Mode in NBA 2K12. The legends are: Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Karl Malone, John Stockon, Bill Russell, Larry Bird, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Magic Johnson, Oscar Robertson, Jerry West, Wilt Chamberlain, Julius Erving, Patrick Ewing, Hakeem Olajuwon and Isiah Thomas. They also revealed there are going to be two bonus teams; the 1990-91 Warriors and 2001-02 Kings. I love that they didn't pick current players like LeBron or D-Wade, but I personally wanted to see Charles Barkley and Reggie Miller. I feel that they were snubbed. But it is if they WANT to be in the game. Hey guys. Today I got outside and I worked on my attack and post moves. For post moves I did up and unders, drop steps, fadeaways and etc. I, then, worked on the thing I was struggling with, attacking the basket off the dribble. The problem is not with ball handling; I am a great ball handler, but it is just being assertive and going to the rim. I also took about 300 shots including the post moves and the attack drills. I took only 10 free throws. Free throws was not one of my top priorities today, even though it is important. Sorry this wasn't my longest post but thanks for reading. Hey guys, I'm back. I have been working out and practicing; I just haven't been posting. So, sorry about that. I have been practicing with a 8th grade summer AAU team for about a week or so. I also got to play in a game with them. I am sad to report that I only logged 3 points. I guess my offense wasn't clicking or the defense played me well or I got nervous, I am 2 years younger but I want to improve. I tried passing to them; some times they made it, sometimes they didn't but I often found myself shooting instead of drilling into the lane and throwing up a floater or layup in scrimmages and in games and that's what my mom told me. I told her I would try my best to put the ball on the floor and I plan to practice that later tonight and post about that. If you guys have any tips or suggestions, send me a message or comment it. Also, on Wednesday, I will practice with the high school's head coach. I also plan to post about that. Have you guys heard about NBA 2K12? I pre-ordered it on Friday for PlayStation 3. Sorry for my absence, again. All I did on those days I didn't write, I was running around with my friends. But anyways, the last two days I have been playing basketball and working out. Yesterday, Day 10, I did the transition drill for about 30 minutes. Then I shot around for 20-30 minutes. I shot threes and mid range. I did good. I shot about 32% from three and 50% from mid. Today, Day 11, I focused all-round. At first, I shot all around. I did that for 25 minutes. Then I shot only threes for 20 minutes. I did, again, good from three. I shot from about 31%. Then I shot free throws. I shot really good even though I changed my free throw. I shot about 77% from the free throw lines. Also today, I did 25 sit ups and 50 curls. Thanks for reading. Hey guys. I'm back. Sorry for my absence, but all I did on Day 4 and Day 5 was play outside with my friends for an hour of two. But anyway, today I did 50 situps on my workout ball, 30 pushups, 30 real situps and 15 curls. After that, I went to the park. I saw some of my basketball friends who were waiting to practice for a tournament with their coach. (These friends are a few years older than me.) So I shot around at first. I probably got up 50 shots consisting of threes, freethrows, mid range shot and some layups before I started practicing with them. We worked on pick and roll and pick and pop. We worked on that for about 35 minutes. We ran through that for three times then we switched defense to offense and so on. Then we did a scrimmage. We scrimmaged for 30 minutes then breaked and then scrimmaged for 20 more minutes. So I played basketball for an hour and 25 minutes. I would say that today was pretty productive. Thanks for reading. Hey guys. Back with Day 3 of my Road to Glory series. Today, I went to the gym and ran a mile on the treadmill and did a mile on the elliptical. I also did 25 lateral pull downs. Then I went to the park for 30 minutes. I know I didn't go for long because I left for the gym at 8:40 pm. But while I was at the park, I was productive. I worked on transition three pointers and transition mid range jumpers. I did a drill when I throw the ball off the backboard and grab it. I set out some cones at half court and some in a zig zag line near the three point line. (The side I was rebounding on.) After I grabbed the rebound, I spun off the first 3 cones then I crossed over to the left of right and took a three or mid range shot on the left or right. My mom timed me while I did the drill. She stopped the clock after the ball went in or hit the rim. I made a good 45% of my shots and I have improved my three a little and mid range a little more than my three. The best time when I shot on the left was 6.58 seconds and the best time when I shot on the right was 6.82. That was as a little bit of a shock to me but a good shock. The reason why I was shocked is because, even though I've improved greatly with my ball handling on the left side, I'm quicker with my right since it's my dominate hand. My post workout meal was some water, chicken, rice and mixed vegetables. The mixed vegetables were carrots, asparagus, corn niblets and green beans. The reason why I had the chicken was because it has protein, the reason because I had the rice was because it has carbs and the reason why I had the vegetables was because it has fiber and more carbs. Hey guys. As my status earlier read, I was debating to do something to put on the blog. I love the blog but I was just sore today from the last workouts I did. But I still decided to do something. I didn't go play basketball, but I did my yoga workout. Yoga, if you didn't know, helps the body and mind. I have 17 poses that I do, switching legs or arms each time. I did my yoga in about 15 minutes. Some of the poses I did were the Downward Facing Dog, The Tree, The Dancer and the Warrior 1 and 2. After, the workout, my mom found me a yoga book in a box of books she has. I will be studying that to find more poses to help me basketball related. (Example: Flexibilty). On Day 1, I played for an hour. I shot mid range twos on the left and right, free throws and three pointers. I shot 400. I made 175. I had to change my free throw routine because at first, I was constantly missing. After I changed my free throw, I made 10 in a row and I started making more of my other shots. My jumpshot was pretty affective, a little more than in the season. I was making everything on the right but was struggling on the left a little bit as well. But still Day 1 was pretty affective.
