Went cross country skiing today,  I took my phone and used the external speaker to play music.  Put the phone in my  upper arm sleeve pocket,  with the phones external speaker turned up it was great listening to music without headphones.  No wires sticking to my face or getting snagged on my pack.

You do not need headphones to enjoy mp3 music while working out.
