It was a great run on Sunday! It was almost 80 degrees in LA and the sky was beautiful and clear. I had a wonderful run from James' house to mine, 5 miles door to door. With so many stop lights, I had time to rest. I wasn't sure I coul make 5 miles since I had been slacking over the holidays. But no problems and no knee issues. I did enjoy walking part of the way, only because I felt like walking which is unusual. Most of the time, I can't stand walking. I need to get there faster! But Sunday, I just enjoyed taling it easy. My legs hurt a bit yeaterday, but today I'm ready for another run and some weight traiing with Phil.
Early 2008 and the perfect time to reasses what has been my running career of 27 years. Nothing to brag about at all, except that I have been running for a very long time. Just not running well. I started running track in high school. And since there were only a few of us competing, I did place third once in the 880. Being short, I don't run fast and I don't run long. I am a mid-distance runner and I am at peace with that. Anything between a 5k and a half-marathon is great.
This year, I would like to be able to actually finish the half-marathon running instead of walking in pain. And I would like to run a 10k much faster than I do, hobbled by my knee pain.
And hopefully this blog will be the story of how I get there.
