So we have kicked off another season, and with only two weekends of play, I am very impressed with the play at the intermediate level. Alyssa Whalen and Kaleigh Murphy, both players for Mercury, showed a lot of poise and will some day become floor generals in this game of basketball. Alyssa Dillion and Victoria Dean displayed good shooting techniques, and Victoria was equally impressive on the defesive end of the court. The Sparks will always be in any game with that kind of talent.

In the senior division, for team Mercury, Meg showed an all around balanced game with assists, and steals, while scoring as well. She showed good ball handling skills while driving to the basket, and finished her efforts by making her lay-ups. She was very good at moving the offense around too. Bitsy, another Mercury player, displayed some range by nailing a three pointer.

Kelli Wagner, of the Mystics, is developing her ball handling skills, as well as her drive to the basket. She is showing a lot of promise in the transition game as well. Serena Colbert, who plays for the Monarchs, had quite a game scoring, stealing the ball dishing out assists and pulling down rebounds. She has great court awareness, and know when to pass the ball.

There are other players who show off their skills every weekend. Players like Maddie Norris who carried the scoring burden for the Shock, and Emma Conant Sam Burkhead and Maddy, all for the Monarchs, who played very well this past weekend. I do not get to see all of the games, so if the coaches would take a moment and contact me (CJ). Their efforts will not go unrewarded
