And so I have successfully completed my first week of training for the Miami Marathon. I ran another four miles this evening for a total of 18 miles this week.
I also joined Miami Beach Fit and went on my first long run (6 miles) on Saturday morning at 6:30am with the group. (I was so nervous that I would oversleep that I woke up at 3am, 4am and 5am before getting out of bed at 5:30
) Regardless, I had a great run and it was wonderful running along the ocean. I ran from 21st street to 5th street on the beach and then from 21st street to 43rd street and back on the boardwalk. I received a lot of great tips for new sneakers as well as dry-fit clothes that I should be checking out so that I am prepared for the big day and comfortable during my runs.
