About Me:
I'm an organizer of a free marathon training program/group. We start our runs from the Pentagon. By the time that our season is finished we will have covered about 20+ of the 26.2 miles of the actual MCM course. Half of the people in our group came from the MCM web page. Half of the group last year never ran a marathon before they came to the group.
We are not hard core Kenyans. We are not running Nazis. We are just a bunch of working folks getting together to do our long runs. This is why it doesn't cost you anything to join us. Last year we had about 50 runners on the book with about 25-30 who show up on any given weekend. It's a pretty closenit group of people. If you join us, you won't just be another face in the crowd. Everyone will know you and you will know everyone by season's end.
The pace for group is between 8+ to 13 min/mile. If you are faster or slower than that then we are probably not the best fit for you. The group experiences range from never running a marathon previously to 20+ marathons. We have a long run schedule that we adhere to. We have water stations when there are volunteers. We'd love to have you join us. If you are looking to run with a bunch of friendly people in an non-intimidating environment then we are for you. It's free. What do you have to loose ?
