Hello, all. I thought I would plop a thread down in here asking about book recommendations for 5k training. I wanted something that offered a few different plans with in-depth advice on pace, speedwork, injury prevention, nutrition, etc… I currently run 15 to 18 miles a week, and I’ve been running for 7 months with 18 months of,prior regular excersize (weights and high impact aerobics. 2 hour sessions))
I would like to read the book while I use the beginner’s training program here on this website, and after completing this programs, beginning with one in the book.
Back in tje day lol, I did a lot of competitive running. Just a few years ago I refereed a lot of soccer…but got out of running until recently. Cross country was about the longest running I did. I was more of a sprinter and mid-distance , and running after 40 is a whole new ball game anyway. I have much to learn and need to get started.
