Mountain Bikes for Beginners

Hey. I'm new to the sport and want to purchase the right bike for me as a beginner. Any advice or suggestions would be great. Thank you.

Well first of all you gotta ask yourself what kinna terrain your into? Cross country, downhill, road, etc. Then probably that will help you to streamline to the right bike choice, personally i like cross country and downhill, so i would go for a softail which has lock out function for the back suspension, that way when im climbing i down have to drain my energy, also alot of it has to do with ur budget too. Hope this helps

I agree with jollywire.  Knowing your budget will help you narrow down your results.  My advice for a beginner is to at least get an aluminum frame with front shocks and a hard tail.  Get an older model.  You don't need disc brakes or a more expensive material for the frame.  Go to several bike shops and try on different bikes until you find a ride you're comfortable with.
