Re: Montreal runners sign in

Good snowy morning all - I am the least techie of the bunch of us on the old Montreal board so I'm having a bit of diffculty with it...its not as "inviting? is another thing for me anyways, oh well.

Ran on the mountain Thursday evening with a small group, it was quiet up there, not many skiiers, dog walkers. Not much energy at this time of year what with the preparation for the holidays far from completed and working. Really, really looking forward to the break.

Going out in a short while for a slow waddle in the snow, I saw a runner earlier as I was checking out the weather so I figure, okay, lets give it a try. When I get back from a couple of kilometres, I'll have to shovel the entrance and clean the entrances as I have a friend coming by later to help little df decorate our tree and I may have family come as well depending on the driving conditions.

Anyone else out there today -- running, skiing, snowshoeing ? Enjoy the day folks.

Ooh. new look and feel.

Attempted to run this morning along the canal with PS. Snow squalls and deep snow resulted in us returning to the the gym only 30 minutes after we started. Ran the remaining 1:15 on the treadmill. Ah... the soothing lull of the treadmill.

Have a wonderful day everyone. (despite the snowstorn out there).

Man - o - man, it took me all afternoon to convince "Active" that I was who I claimed to be. I kept getting kryptic error messages and no advice as to how to find anyone then, suddenly.....POOF! There you all were. This really sucks! Maybe I'll eventually get used to it.....and that riduculous new password......don't get me started on that! It may be a while before everyone finds home again.

Can you believe your eyes when you look out the window? Please tell me they will close the schools tomorrow! I can't even find my driveway!

Re: Montreal runners sign in

yuck. Error when I tried to sign in. I've been here before and there are lots of errors here. Anyhow... Here I am I guess.

Shoveled snow for about 5 hours yesterday... Another hour today as I dug myself a nice tunnel to get from the door to the street. Wore pants over my pants so i wouldn't get them wet for the office only to find out that no one in my department made it to work today.... They are all at home. Oh well.

Swim was cut short this morning because of all the shoveling to be done... ! I noticed that if you shovel a certain way you can work your rotator cuff muscles and actually shovelling snow works a lot of the muscles on your back and the back of your shoulder, complementing the work you do in the pool which is mainly in the front of your shoulders and chest...! Who knew shoveling snow was physio for swimming!

Re: Montreal runners sign in

Well.. I will need some time to adjust to the new look and of how everything works!

I haven't been around lately... mostely because I was busy in a new project at work and the last weeks of the term for school. School is now over... and I am so happy it is! Have not been running at all, tried it once or twice in the last couple of weeks but I have shine splits and it hurts really bad... decided to give it a rest for a couple of weeks. I found a club in Châteauguay (Les Riverains), and I'm going to try it out when they start their activities again in january.

Other than that I am now the owner of a stationnary recumbent bike... did not try it yet, just got it last week... I still have to hook a couple of things together so it can work. I am looking forward to be able to do a little exercise when the weather is like yesterday.

Well, hope everyone is enjoying the shovelling... I am still defrosting!

Any :D

Re: Montreal runners sign in

Yes you should instead of mucking about..franchement, get it together, its beautiful out there this evening, huge snow flakes drifting down, not too cold.:)

Wasn't out for long, just to get some air, listen to some tunes, get away from the oh so not polite 12 year old with a headcold. Also had to take it easy, had fizzio for the bleeping arm this aft and it bleeping hurts and I have to take advil and ice it again. This after I got home to find the neighbour's kids tearing into the snow piled to the side from my driveway and sliding into my porch ?! X-( Guess its better then sliding in the other direction into the path of oncoming buses.

Get out there if you can - fly
