Yes, yes this does seem excessive, however, I don't eat after 6pm the night before a race so I wake up absolutely starving. I'll usually go with either a half bagel or oatmeal and not both. Plus, I eat plain yogurt (less sugar) out of a larger container so I only end up having 4-6oz. The electrolyte drink, I sip on until 30 minutes before the start of the race.
