Wood Bats

My son is 12 years old he's moving up to the 60/90 field this fall , in NYC we're required to use a wood bat.  He used a Combat B1 31/21 for the summer.  I purchased the Rawling 325LAP Light Wood Bat but he gets stung if he doesn't hit the sweet spot. Can some one sugguest a good quality wood bat for him? Thank you.

The sting is, as you noted, from not hitting on the sweet spot. The quality of the bat will not change that. Learning to hit on the sweet spot one of the changes to be made whan switching to wood.

Am I correct that the NYC law only applies to school team games?
