Without out going through all the details did any of you see the play in the championship game and was the call correct for LL rules and would it had been the same result for ASA rules?
Dave, ya gotta give at least SOME detail! Which call? what baserunner? what game?
If you are referencing the FL vs PR game and runner INT call, look here; http://forum.officiating.com/softball/58886-florida-vs-puerto-rico-ll-game.html
If this were ASA, the runner closest to home should have been called out.
I am not clear with LL rules, but I would bet it still should have been an out at 3B due to INT.
There's also a good discussion about this on the eteamz "Official Baseball Rules" forum...which is kind of like discussing hockey in the basketball forum!

Yes and no - When I was doing LL SB, I seem to remember the rules were basically LL baseball rules with a few minor exceptions.
LL BB is based on OBR with a few "youth" modifications.
So having a LLSB discussion on on a board which is OBR based (and overwhelmingly LL based) is not reall much of a stretch.
A good example is the way Obstruction is treated.
oops

When I started doing LL Softball, if memory serves, there were six (6) differences from LL Basball:
1..Size of ball
2..Underhand pitching
3..Runner OUT if leaving before pitch
4..Fielders did not have to wear caps
5..Players were girls
6..No mound
Bob
Also add the Look Back Rule.
Other than those LL softball plays by baseball rules.
For example, in LL softball if a runner is hit with a fair batted ball while standing on a base she is out ( as in baseball).
Not so in ASA and FED softball rules.
