Is that the Pilsner recipe from Charlie Papazian's book? We made a batch of that before Christmas. We have a cold back room on the house, so the beer lagered out there for about 3 weeks before bottling.

Though I didn't think it was much like a  Pilsner (my opinion - yours may vary), I would definitely make it again. It's been one of the tastiest beers we've ever brewed.

    Crane Girl

I am interested by the Oscar Stout. I am heading to western WI soon. I am heading to Black River Falls for a couple.

    Thanks

    Re: Beer

UGH!!  3rd attempt at this post.  I was excited to see a running and beer thread.

    Favorite Beers:

Stone Arrogant B*stard (deleted my thread 2x with this one even with slightly different spellings)
    Hazed and Infused
    Eggeberg Urbock
    Paulaner Oktoberfest

Among many others - not so fond of stouts but Sam Addams Chocolate stout is heaven and well worth the $15.00/bottle. Also Summit Brewing makes and extremely smooth Oatmeal stout but you can only get it on-tap around Minneapolis.

    Cheers!!

    Re: Beer

Just got into the BBChocoStout last night!!!

    WhoooHaaa!!!

This year's batch is blacker and stronger than years past - It was showing signs of wimping out last year, drifting towrds Porterland. That has been course-corrected. Definitely not for the timid.

    Oh...paulaner octoberfest....yeeummmm....

JJ; I just had some Oscar's last week on tap and although it was good, it was a bit bitter; it tends to be really good or kinda off. There are three breweries in one from Black River Falls that are putting out some good stuff, though, I had a nice Ale and I typically don't like ales.

No one likes Chimay blue label? How about Polygamy Porter? (I happen to be good friends with the brewmaster from Park City...)

    Re: Beer

I just had a beer from Clipper City Brewery in Baltimore.

"Category 5 WinterStorm" with 55 IBU's and 7.5% alcohol. Nice Coppery color with a nice balance of creamy malts and hoppy finish. Dry hopped to create a nice nose but over whelming. Strong enough to serve with spicer foods ( I was eating Jamaican Rice and Chicken with eat).

I'm looking forward to sampling more of this brewery's beers.

    Lance who?

    Favorite Beers (at this time)

    Victory Devil Hop IPA
    Sierra Nevada Celebration
Magic Hat - the entire collection

However there are a few beers that have been mentioned in this thread that I haven't tried. I will need to do some more research before finalizing this list.
