Great to see a run coming to Milwaukee, but it will be very hot at 10:15 in the morning.  It should be started much earlier.  July in Milwaukee...eeek

Heat was my first thought too when I saw the start time.  Except for the elites, it will definitely make average runners think twice.  I realize the festival doesn't open until 11:30, and they don't want too many people standing around, but I hope Summerfest officials reconsider the safety aspects of it and come up with a happy medium.

I'm thrilled with the later start time.  I suppose it could be hot, but it's early July on the Lakefront.  Could be 55, could be 85.  Let's hope for something in between.

I'd love to come home to my old stomping grounds for a race, but 10am in July? Doesn't anyone remember what happened at the Chicago Marathon in 2007? That was in October...and that start time was 8am.  I hope the race committee will consider a 6am start like most races across the country. The heat, humidity and running do not mix, no matter how elite you are.

I agree 1015 in July is too late, It should be an 8:00 start or even 0730.. I did a half marathon in Aug and it started at 0700 and it was extremely hot by 0800 ..I think they should reconsider the time. However,  I am very excited about running this half marathon:) should be a good time!!

7/10 in MKE will be a hot day. I hope they move the start time to around 7:00. More people would sign up for sure!

I agree with fire island - course should be certified and where's the medallion?

It was announced a few weeks ago that the start time is going to be moved up, I believe to 8:00 due to the outpour of worries over heat. I'm definitely going to sign up now, I will get over my fear of heights!

Can't wait to run one close to home! Heat just makes it interesting!!! See you all there. Have a beer ready for me at the finish! (a 64 calorie beer of course). Would like to add a medal to my collection. Happy to be going to the fest afterwards though.

I am excited to run this!  Yeah, Summerfest!

How about giving the first time event a chance to happen before finding fault with it.
