    Re: 100 Day Challenge

    Completed day 30 by doing W6D3.  I felt awesome during and after the run.  Got a Garmin Forerunner 305 for my birthday this week and used it for the second time.  Here is the data from my run (http://connect.garmin.com/activity/75037491).  I haven't gotten the 305 outdoors yet, as it snowed last night, but I'm looking forward to my first official outdoor run.  I know that there's going to be a difference between TM and outdoor running so I'm really interested to see how I do.

    On a side note, I signed up/paid for two races today.  The first is the Grand Blue Mile in late April, and the second is the Klompen Classic 5K the first week in May.  I'm really excited!

    hwkwyld I think you'll love your Garmin. I have the 305cx and they are awesome.I just started using the interval training and it makes training a snap. Oh, don't forget to turn the GPS back on when you go outside like I did. Let me know how it works for you I would be interested. Keep up the good work.

    Day 8 - the 5k Young Life race - 45 minutes - not sure of actual time.  I then walked back to the race as there was one young girl walking for all she was worth - dead last and asked her if I could walk with her to the finish line.  That was the best part of the entire race.  What a total ray of sunshine she was - she had tried the race last year and did not complete it and this year she was determined.    Toddling on..............

    Re: 100 Day Challenge

    So glad we have this site...I enjoy hearing the stories and see how everyone is staying active!

    Friday, very minimal - 30 minutes walking the dog and that was dividing it up in 2 walks!  Taper time...

    Today - 50k race on Chicago Lakefront!  very windy and cold, but i survived!  yeah, that is over...i think i'll be hobbling along tomorrow!

    @GI Jen - WOW a 50k?! Good for you.

    Day 31 is done for me.  40min on the eliptical machine to be spoiled by pizza for lunch.  Oh well, I knew today was going to be tough as we have a wedding tonight.  As long as I stay away from the cake I'll be good!

    Re: 100 Day Challenge

    Thanks everyone for the congrats!  yeah, i was a bit aprehensive posting that I did it, b/c i don't want people to think i'm that nuts!  JAlso, i don't want it to sound egotistical either!

    This is only my 2nd 50k- did the same one last year at this time.

    Painting Lady - i would be please to post a report, but not sure where to do that?  I assume it's somewhere on the active website?

    I've never done a race report before.  If you'd like to hear about it i would be more than happy to post something.  Have you posted any race reports before on this website?

    Attacking and managing a 50k is not egotistical, but an accomplishment!   Cheering you on - not on that goal page for me, but cheering you on!!

    100 DC D-2   30 minutes situps, pushups, and squats.

    Sounds like there were alot of good runs this weekend. Remember not to be hard on yourself about time. If your not running in the 15 minute neighborhood ( I don't) then there is no pressure;-)
