Starting Hal Higdons 1/2 Marathon Training 1/10/2011

Hello, Welcome to Hal Higdons 1/2 Marathon Training. I'm at the end of the OHR so I'm currently running 3 easy runs during the week and running long on Sundays. I like being in a program with other people so we can offer advice and encourage each other.

BTW, Michael, I know it's a bit OT but where does your marathon training plan come from?

    Same guy.

OT: I did find out how to set the treadmills at the Y to go past 30 minutes. Unfortunately, the next program is based on miles, not time. Now I have to see if I can figure out how to set a mile goal on the darn thing.

How was Spain? I sure miss being warm. We are still seeing sub zro (F) temps at night. Have you ever left the mainland and gone to Ibiza?

I just started this trainging guide as well this week.  I am a very slow runner.  The furthest I have ran is 8 miles but it took about a 1/2 a day!    My first 1/2 marathon is March 27th in Dallas.  Very nervous but looking forward to completing my goal!

    Good luck with your training!

    Jen
