Try Outs - Saturday, 1/29/11 - New England Storm

The 11 year old New England (formerly North Shore) Storm Jr. Olympic softball program is growing!  With this, comes added opportunities for young ladies to play this wonderful game.  Aside from the current teams in the program (which consists of players from nearly 50 cities and towns, and 3 states), which play upwards of 8 Summer weekend tournaments per year, we are now adding teams for those young ladies who wish to play, the chance to receive the same Storm coaching curriculum, in a positive, reassuring atmosphere.  The major difference will be a lesser commitment.  For example, a 4 - 5 tournament schedule, along with a few less indoor practices sessions, to go along with the outdoor practices which will begin once the weather permits.  This also means a lesser fee!  Players will still be welcome to play for their local community teams.  There are also a few openings for some Storm "A" teams.  The players will be able to try out for either group, this Saturday evening, from 7:30 - 9:00 p.m., at Extra innings, on Rte. 114, in Middleton, MA.  Please email. or call, the program director, John Gambale, at jgambalemsc@aim.com, or 781-715-5193.  For additional info on the Storm, please visit www.newenglandstorm.org.  No player is turned away due to financial issues.  Coach Gambale has recently been invited to assist Coach Ralph Raymond, the United States Olympic Softball Gold Medal winning Head Coach of the 1996 & 2000 teams with an elite U18 Gold regional team.
