Re: My last run was...how was yours?

Whew! What a week! I didn't get in the runs I planned to, but I did make it to the gym twice instead (Tuesday steps and weights & Wednesday Nike Training Club). Even though I was sore from the gym classes, I managed 6 miles yesterday at my normal pace. I needed that! My stress levels have been way too high and I needed a good run yesterday. Today I snuck out of the office for a bit for some volleyball, but I am afraid that'll be it for the week. Too much to do and so little time...

Great to hear about everyone else getting out there!

Re: My last run was...how was yours?

Friday the international teachers played against another team of locals - this one much younger, more athletic and carrying a bit of a grudge after we "gringos" beat another group of teachers so badly last week. Hard fought soccer game and we ended up losing 3-2 but it really was fun. Now I have to go ice my achy heel.

My last run was...how was yours?

Hello all. It's been awhile. I ran the Pittsburgh Pirates 5k this morning. Very unorganized race from beginning to end, parking was a nightmare. The lines to pick up packets were extremely long before the race, so much so some runners didn't start at the beginning of the race. It was chiptimed so I guess not a big deal but not good either.  There weren't even pins to put on your bib numbers, there were bibs everywhere along the course because most ended up taping them on. I ran a chiptime of 22:52, 21st of 103 in A.G., 466 of 2154 finishers. the distance is being questioned because of being poorly marked and no one manned at any of the turns. It was for a good cause and running it with family made up for it all. At the end of the day all smiles.

MelodyLea congrats on you signing up for the half and on your 25th. Both are awesome.

Good job everyone and keep running

My last run was...how was yours?

Taking the weekend off to play golf before returning to training.  Good workout if you walk and carry your bag.

Is anyone else going to do the Bolder Boulder 10k at end of May?  Haven't done this before but sounds like a hoot with 50,000 of your closest friends and a finish line in CU football stadium.

And is anyone planning on the RW Half Marathon in Bethlehem, PA in October?  Looks like a hilly course so will have to train for that specifically.

Hope all are doing well and enjoying your runs.

    Have a great weekend.

Re: My last run was...how was yours?

NHLA: Whoop! That sounds like about where I hope to be in July. Not as many miles a week, though.

6x: Welcome back to the board. No matter the distance, you know how you fared in your division.

MelodyLea: Thanks for the encouragement, and dual grats!

Ogr44: Glad to hear you were able to finish with no pain.

linuscatch: My wife and I are doing Bolder Boulder again this year. We've registered, and I'm awaiting wave assignment - should be D or DA. It's an EVENT more than a road race, but it is extremely well organized, and you can run a pretty good time. There are dozens of waves going off every 45-75 seconds or so from 7:00 for the "A" wave, through 9:37 for the final walkers. Anyway, it's a blast. Pricey, though.

So, we volunteered at the Mt Carbon Trail 1/2 Marathon today. Not a real technical course, but a trail course with some climbing all the same. There was a 5K option, also. I ran back and forth there all morning, ate, slept an hour, and then went out and did another 3.2 miles, with some intervals and hills. Almost got hit by a woman in a minivan. I hate running roads, but this hill is too close to home to pass up, and it's on the way to the trails around the lake. Today's recap: 3 miles at dawn, some short runs at the half, another 3.2 miles tonight. 18 miles for the week!

My last run was...how was yours?

NHLA - OMG you are my hero. I would do that in about 4 hours

Since I am recovering from stiffness from my Friday football game, and with a long run (for me) on tap for Sunday Isimply grabbed a backpack with my stuff and hiked to my school to grade part of the huge pile of student notebooks waiting for my attention. Nice 4 miles to work the kinks out.

    Have a great Sunday everybody!

My last run was...how was yours?

Wow, all your runs are inspiring! We have had one really nice weather lately and it has been wonderful to be outside! Yesterday was my longest long run yet, 6 miles! I felt pretty sluggish and realized that my weekend runs are so much harder than my weekday runs. I'm thinking that's because I run in the evening, and on workdays I'm very active all day, but weekend days are much more low key. Anyone else notice this? Anyway I did my 6 miles in about 1 hour 15 minutes. Today it is rainy, but I am still going to go out to do something later on!

My last run was...how was yours?

Today was the Penn Relays Distance Classic 20k. It was nice and cool with a light mist of rain which made for some good running. It was an out & back, I was able to run back a little faster which is always a good thing. It was a really fun run.

My last run was...how was yours?

Ran a 5 miler at a 10 mm pace this morn around the schools. Not alot of traffic on Sunday mornings so a great place to get a run in. 47 and a light rain but I enjoyed it alot. They are calling for 18 inches of snow here starting tonight into Tues. This may be more snow then we got all winter. I don't know if it will stay long enough but hoping to get a some snowshoeing in. We had such a mild winter I hadn't got any in at all this year.

OldPoddler  Thx. I agree. I'm happy with my time as it is improving from what I think is from all this trail running. I really am enjoying the trails more and more these days than the roads. Don't have to worry about all those mini van drivers on their cell phones, lol. Nice volunteering at the half.

    DSJ80  nice run

Swebb0310 congrats on the 6 miler. Great job. I'm opposite of you in the way I find my weekend runs much better. I find myself tired after work as I'm on my feet all day. This may be my age caughting up to me a little, even though I keep trying to out run it.

Guayguilwriter a 4 mile hike is also a great workout. To me any workout is a good workout.

NHLA  "billygoat tough" you got to love it. Great job.

    linuscatch that 10k sounds awesome.

Org44  good job on your race and good luck with your knee next week on your jog.

    Keep running everyone
