Re: My last run was...how was yours?

I made a new 15 minute treadmill hill routine!  Set the 'mill to a 7:30 pace, and 1.0 grade, then when the timer reaches 7m30s, press the +0.5 grade button every 30 seconds until grade 5.0 is reached at 11 minutes.  Hold that for just a brief 240 second to 15 minutes, and repeat the whole thing twice more (45 minute total).  I swear time actually slows down with incline, haha.  I was a wrung out dish towel afterward.  (I calculated the SF 12K Bay To Breakers Hayes Hill climb ... it's 0.40 miles at a 7.94 grade, ouch!!!)

Made an easy 2-miler today and still my legs are complaining a bit. I hope it clears up or tomorrow's speed workout will kill me.

After three days off (one as sag wagon for friends cycling 88 miles), my run this morning was shorter than I wanted it to be due to humidity: 3 miles almost exactly.

Re: My last run was...how was yours?

Great! It was just a short 2.5 miles, with quite a bit of walking - but it's the first time out on the road after 2 weeks of being sick. I'm not all the way back to health, but with my Half coming up in 6 weeks, I needed to get out! Oh yeah, it was also 95 degrees out! Hoping I have time to build up my endurance before I need to taper off for the race.

Re: My last run was...how was yours?

Four miles tonight, 95 degrees and the humidity was just dripping lol. Ran with a local running group tonight, there was fast group and a slow group. Guess who was right in the middle running by himself?? Thats right little ol me. I usually run by myself anyway so it felt pretty normal, but was hoping someone would be close to my pace to run with. Might try a few more times maybe some else will show that wasn't there. There's no way I can run with the fast group at this time, so do I just slow down for the other group?? I'm running 9-10 min miles and thought that might be somewhat normal and have a few others at that pace, but maybe I'm slower than I thought... Hmmmm..D.

Hahaha Dobrobuck, I'm almost always in the middle of my run club people too.  Occasionally a couple people show up that go my pace, but 75% of the time I'm by myself.  No big deal.  It's somewhere different to run and we socialize before and after a bit, so it's still fun

    Hoo Boy!

Ran some speed work this morning - three x1 mile at a bit faster than 5K race pace. Third interval kicked my butt (a chunk of it was on an uphill grade)but I got through it!

Sticky already at 6:30am for my just-over-three miles. I was dripping when I came in. Stay hydrated out there.

Re: My last run was...how was yours?

Ran about 3.8 in the heat yesterday afternoon.  It was a pretty slow run, but I'd taken 3 days off and wasn't too worried about my times.  Today I'm going to do some sprints for the first time in my life.  Should be interesting since I'm not really sure what I'm doing, ha!

Did a sluggish 2.21 miles. Bleh!

Felt done in from my interval workout the day before.

Re: My last run was...how was yours?
Even here in Upstate NY we're getting the heat wave! With a forecasted high of 98 degrees for today, I set my alarm for 5:20 AM and did a muggy 3.25 miles before work this morning. Only the third time ever doing a morning run (not counting races), and by far the earliest. I'm thinking there's something to this whole "running is addictive" thing, because I am NOT a morning person AT ALL, so to have chosen to get up at the crack of dawn? To run?! Do wonders ever cease?

@Everjewel - Guess wonders never do cease!!  Good for you.  I haven't been able to muster the courage up to wake up that early to run.  That's quite the heatwave for up there.  Have family up there and they're not happy.  At least here in the south we're set up with central air so inside it's nice.  Hang in there, it'll cool soon.

Re: My last run was...how was yours?
I did a soggy 4.5 this morning.  The temp was on it's way to 99, but was ONLY 85 (100 percent humidity, with dew on the ground) when I was running.  I did short loops of 1.3 miles to have the option of stopping by my car for a swig.  All in all, not bad, but I was very well lubricated by the end (as in sweaty, not drunk!)

Re: My last run was...how was yours?

6 miles this morning. I went out at 8:30AM with temps in the mid-70's, slight overcast and a nice breeze. However, when I got home I looked bronze and noticed I had tan lines on my shoulders and thighs. So weird because the sun only came out at the last 2 miles. Oh well, I'm liking the toasty look. I was soaked as well. Glad I got out before we hit 91 with a heat index of 100! This heat wave is crazy.

@Dreamstate: I agree with your boyfriend. See if you can find a running buddy to head out early with you.
